Does anyone know anybody over the age of 50 who hasn't had at least one dose of the vaccine? If so what's the reason that haven't had it?

I don't know of anyone but there's clearly only 2 options. They can't have it for medical reasons or they have bought into the anti vaxxer narrative. Obviously there will be those with a distrust within minority backgrounds.

I only ask because I've just looked at the stats and in the over 70s category alone there's over 1 in 10 who isn't vaccinated

I know one person who hasn't on the basis "you don't know what they have put it in".

The same person chain smokes and has been slowly pickling her brain with excess alcohol for 20+ years. I find the excuse laughable and hypocritical in equal measure.

90% is extremely high penetration I would say, most of those still not vaccinated would probably be those who’ve been medically advised not to get it. A lot of people talk tough, but when push comes to shove they’re only bluffing. Like life in general.

Any who hasnt had their first vaccine and is over 50 should be allowed to be administered the vaccine by a sniper or big game hunter.

I know of two and they're the typical covid conspirators posting stuff from twitter! Both got hearts of gold though which makes it very infuriating!

Why does anyone who chooses not to have something, become immediately labelled as “anti” something.

I don’t like Eastenders but I’m not anti Eastenders.

I don’t enjoy watching rugby but I’m not anti rugby.

Now if someone is going around trying to convince someone not have a vaccine by spreading unsubstantiated "facts" then yes anti Vaxxer.
If someone just chooses not to have it then is that not a personal choice about their own body/health?

I know two who can’t have it for medical reasons and one who I don’t know many details but are having to wait until they can have it locally and haven’t been able to do that yet. I know someone in late 40s who haven’t because they have to wait a month after having COVID which they caught after booking the first one but before their appointment date arrived.

I’m not having it.. but in no way am I an anti vaxer and I wouldn’t try to convince anyone else that they should or shouldn’t have it so sweeping statements like yours are ridiculous!!

Someone my mum knows refuses to have a vaccine.

She’s mid 40s, is morbidly obese, lives with her mother who isn’t a well woman.

She also thinks all lives matter, that trump made America great again and brexit was a reason for national celebration.

    Isn’t your post somewhat hypocritical?

Sorry it amused me. Just as a aside you were answering a different question as the op asked about people over 50.

Probably, we all are. Just with the question being about over 50s and this over 40s example being offered up I sense it was something that had been bothering the poster.

Ah see now that does have more relevance. Does she give any reasons for refusing the vaccine beyond the fact she likes Trump, Brexit and I presuming not a fan of anti racism?

I don't know anyone in the UK (other than those who've posted it on here) who doesn't want the vaccine. However, I know several in Germany who refuse to have it because they're scared of it.
