That surprises me as I thought he’d be in line for the Everton job. He has a hell of a job on his hands there with the turnover of players. Reading/hearing what Dane said the other week and then what Val said today about signing Devante, I’m confident he’ll still be here in August.
I'll stick my tin hat on. If Ismael has ambitions for one of the very big jobs at some point then he will have to demonstrate he has more than one tactical string to his bow. I'm not saying he can't do it but he will have to. I'd love to see him tweak our style next season and repeat the results. If he does that then he'll be in the frame himself for jobs like the Everton one.
That's fair. Any coach that is seen to overachieve in their first season needs to be wary of a second season syndrome, and be able to evolve as teams' gameplans against him do.
Looks like talks have broken down with Santo, Palace still looking for their manager! Hopefully they opt for Steve Cooper
I agree with that. But I do think the tactics were planned to avoid relegation. Not expecting to be promotion candidates. Tricks up the sleeve, I reckon. We definitely have the talent, currently.
