I had a scam text earlier from Hermes that was written just like this..... Hermes: Your parcel is waiting for re-delivery at your nearest Hermes depot, please reschedule this now at: https://myhermes-parceltrace.com I reported them here...... https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report-phishing Easy for people to fall for and they don't in the text say you owe a delivery fee like they usually do so it's a bit more realistic looking. I put in a random postcode so they could find my details and amazingly up popped details of when they tried to deliver my non existent parcel to my random postcode.
Had a phone call supposed to be from Amazon, saying that they had an Apple I-phone 7 for £395.I am on Amazon Prime and never known them to phone,so just told them to do one.
Keep getting “Microsoft” calling as my computer is having a problem, or BT, to tell me that I have had a security issue with their broadband. All I need to do is type a few things into my laptop... A: I’ve got a MacBook B: I’m with Virgin media. I usually curse them, and their family’s health wealth and happiness for ever more.... they appear to find this quite disconcerting.
I've 6 warrants for my arrest last few weeks - Hmrc are after me and my NI number has been locked. They seek him here They seek him there ...
Will had a couple of calls from 'Virgin Media' the other week. It started off well for them when the guy calling couldn't even remember where he was supposed to be calling from and could be heard asking someone else in the same room who replied with 'Virgin Media'. Will had a bit of time so he managed to keep them on the phone for 55mins the second time until they asked him if he was having them on, he tried to save it but they hung up. Hopefully, it prevented them from making other calls to more vulnerable people during that time.
I wound "Derek" from India up that much one time, that he actually rang me back to swear at me! Another time, I managed to keep one on the line when at work whilst I checked with our IT department. When I eventually remembered to get back to him (we had fancy phones that could put calls on hold) I said "our IT department need your name, company and phone number and they'll get back to you". They soon hung up!
a friend when he gets these calls is always extremely polite then he mentions that he's put a trace on the call - brings things to a speedy conclusion! o/t a bit - I'm always surprised when I hear of people who join a 'dating agency' - they are then persuaded to part with huge amounts of money before realising they've been scammed.
I don't know if all providers do this, but with Sky you can put a shield on calls. They screen the call and put them through once you've authorised it the first time, and every call thereafter from that number goes through. Don't have a problem with dodgy calls at all now.
That's good, maybe gives me time to flee the country while they're looking for you. Oh wait a minute................
