Boris making his decision Sunday night. I wonder if that means he might tell us then as he's done prime time addresses to the nation on a couple of key times during all this. I am sure he realises the mass protests on the way next week because people will take to the streets if he does wrong by people.
you are aware of what’s happening in Lancs and Kirklees aren’t you, or are you maintaining your state of denial whatever?
Of course especially living in Kirklees. When we got our weekly update last Friday hospital numbers were down on the previous week and deaths were the exact same at one.... https://kirkleestogether.co.uk/2021/06/04/infection-rates-still-rising-play-your-part/ Also it's not bad in Huddersfield. South Kirklees is doing fine. It's North Kirklees that is riddled. The likes of Dewsbury, Batley and Cleckheaton. Our town shouldn't be treated the same as other towns just because it's the same council.
If he does wrong by people? What, by trying to keep them safe? Do you think he'd be doing it for a bit of a laugh?
It makes sense to get more people fully vaccinated before further unlocking. I really don't understand why some can't see that.
I'm more clued up than most on COVID statistics, but even I'm surprised with this one. The latest figures on Long COVID are that one million people in the UK are currently experiencing Long COVID symptoms and 376,000 of them have been suffering for at least 12 months. Prevalence is greatest in the 35 to 69 years age group. This isn't just about hospitalisations and deaths. No case of infection can just be dismissed.
I don't think most people are dismissing cases of infection just trying to balance that agaisnt the myriad of death and suffering we have brought upon people as a result of the repsonse to Covid.
I dont understand why we still have extreme restrictions when 90% of the most vulnerable are totally protected
I know you didn’t ask me, but for me: De facto imprisonment on your own island. Inability to watch your football team in person Restrictions on the number of people you can invite onto your own property. All of which are unprecedented in peace time.
Flights are still coming in and out of this island. Ismael went on holiday to Dubai I think I read? Presumably on his way to the get his family first... not sure how he managed to escape the prison. I'm sure 4,500 watched the home leg of the play off final. Edgbaston looks very full today. As for how many you invite round, you could meet outside in a group of 30, and frankly, I doubt with forces stretched as much as they are that they've been able to monitor or act any breach of guidance. Anything else?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's fairly easy to leave the island isn't it? Other countries might not take you, but as far as I know there's no restrictions from our government on leaving the country? Right now there's no football anyway. And if there was thousands would be able to attend Oakwell. Not really sure that counts as 'extreme restrictions' measures that affect your life right now? Again correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the limit about 30 right now? I've only ever had more than 30 people in my home once in my adult life and it was the worst experience of my life.
We have crazy people wanting masks and social distancing FOREVER. https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/covid-professor-claims-social-distancing-should-remain-forever-
Flights have increased daily along with the numbers on board. It's flaming mayhem in some ports, and hardly anyone being checked by Hardings 34 billion World beating track and trace.
Fair enough. I'm going to be petty and still go with 30 because TM said "onto your property" and not "in your property"
I don't know why you bother, they'll never admit it. Even though all they've done to argue against there been restrictions in place is to highlight restrictions that are place.
That may well be the worst written article I've ever seen. If this is the kind of 'news' you read, it really does explain a lot.
