You're right, as no team comes before Barnsley for me. When Barnsley lose, I can be in a foul mood for days. When England lose, I shrug my shoulders. When Barnsley win, it puts me in a good mood for days. When England win, I shrug my shoulders. I don't, have never, will never have the same passion for England as I do for Barnsley.
I'm same as you when it comes to Barnsley mate . ( O/T, I'm England over Yorkshire in the Cricket. The county game does absolutely nothing for me at all. I couldn't even name any Yorkshire players other than those that represent or have represented England.)
I agree it's a poor substitute for watching the Reds, but we can't spend all summer compiling lists of best/worst music stuff. Interesting though they are
I normally get into it but couldn't care less at the minute. Maybe it will come. Is there var to ruin what looks like a good goal!
I agree the format is a joke but I will be watching. 36 games to eliminate six teams is just UEFA greed and should be despised in the same manner as the ESL. Still, always the chance to hope for an upset.
I think as a fan the results mean more when you are at the games. I've not been ecstacic or distraught off most results this season, even when I read online we'd lost the playoffs
Oh, does it start tonight Bad enough seeing England being outplayed by the Kiwi reserves in the cricket, not helped by Root dropping a catch, never mind the hope and expectation of another England campaign. Still, at least Yorkshire had a decent win last night Yep, just call me Hector
The English have the advantage of Home matches whilst we Taffs are playing in very distant lands and our fantastic manager who has done a brilliant job wont be there ........ still put a tenner on them to win tho' - 150/1.
Lost interest after the 2006 WC, I really couldn't care less if we win lose or draw, I find international football ( especially England) boring, also what makes my teeth itch is the media with headlines like " its coming home," and having to wheel some of the 66 lot out to remind us what its like to win the world Cup, albeit 55 years ago, I think we'll struggle to get out of the group stage, I know their is Scotland and Croatia but I have absolutely no idea who the other team is
Looking forward to this one. First tournament I've not worked on since 1990 and now semi-retired, so the beer-fridge is full, the big telly's all set up in my man-cave, the wall-chart is up and I intend to feast on every game if I can
They'd be the ones I'd be happy to miss! Never much cop, too much baggage. It's those low-key group games that often deliver a surprise or two.
I'll watch the games and enjoy the tournament as long as the games are ok. Hope the home nations do well, but if they don't I'll not lose any sleep or throw any garden furniture around.
I wouldn't actually mind us losing every game, just to prevent unrelenting jingoism for a month, being milked by the media and government.
