Certain words can make me want to throw up when I hear them spoken. Not sure if there is a term for that weirdness. My current one is pup, I know it's irrational but I can't stand it.
" You're nice. I could get a pup out of you." Was what this weird bloke used to say to me at the Bacon Factory. Gave me the jitters. I knew he was jesting but he took creepiness to a new level.
Gobsmacked makes me want to smack someone in the gob . The other one is when words are shortened like obviously to obvs it’s sheer laziness
Business w**k words. Absolutely no need for them and typically only used by people who haven't a clue what they are talking about.
Oh, "Hospical" and "Everythink". Don't seem to hear it as much now, but the Hospical thing used to really annoy me.
Listen, only recently because of footballers/ managers starting a sentence with " listen" of course they are listening, they asked you the bleeding question
Reaching out. Touch base. Synergy/ies. "Piece".... this is a relatively new one the last year or two. "We're looking at this across the whole (insert topic) piece" That whole pile of crap. Oh and like, when like, you know, like, people like, say like, like a lot, like.
Not had "piece" yet, I'm assuming it will work its way north eventually, and then I'll be sat in meetings thinking, yeah, DWL was right...
"No brainer". First time I ever noticed this term was from an actual person with no brain. His name was Keith Hill.
