Three day test at this rate after ending the first session of the match without losing a wicket. That would mean losing 20 wickets in 8 sessions and that's with New Zealand batting for a fair chunk of that.
Utterly embarrassing, anyone going to try and defend this?! India will whitewash us later in the summer.
This should be a wake up call for our powers that be. I’m not sure how much scope we have to bring in players of test capability if they just don’t exist. we’ve shuffled the pack a fair bit and we still haven’t found someone who knows what to leave and what to play at consistently. selections have been poor, and better application could give a short term improvement, but there needs to be some fundamental change if we have any desire to be a good test team.
Central contracts ,players not been able to play in county games to get some innings under there belts
Selectors want kicking into the long grass after this, commentators shouldn’t have to keep referring to batsmen as struggling for form!
