If he hasn't learned lessons from the World Cup, then we can expect negativity and boring football, Southgate and flair are not related.
Rumours he’s starting a back three of Walker, Stones and Shaw, meaning whoever he picks in front of them won’t be the big talking point!
So instead of talking a fully fit centre half instead of Mafuure the rumoured plan is to play two full backs either side of Stones. Thos despite playing a flat back 4 since he took charge.
This will be the team, please feel free to bump if I’m wrong… Pickford Walker Stones Mings Chilwell Rice Phillips Foden Mount Sterling Kane
It’s just one of the rumours. I think Scott’s team is much more likely. I actually think he will start Grealish and Sancho though, it’s just the Phillips position I struggle with. But we’re so weak in the middle and need to protect that back four.
You're probably right, but I can't think of any good argument for starting Sterling over Grealish, Rashford or Sancho
England under 8.5 goals for the tournament at 6/5. Easy money. If we win the group we'll face Germany, France or Portugal in last 16. It ends there imo. Happy to be wrong
Sterling’s got pace. Croatia are a technical cagey side. I can see the argument for playing him. Great player in my opinion.
Grealish would be starting every game for me. I think he’s a fantastic player. However, as we’ve seen with us this season, players coming off the bench can be just as important as those that start.
If Southgate picks Foden, Grealish and Mount and it goes t1ts up hell be hammered...probably by the folk who think he should play all three.
