Ah ok, I understand where you are coming from now. Not saying I necessarily agree with you ;) but I get your stance now.

I dont care if I can go to cafes and bars. Its not good enough. Its not a full life.

Am I supposed to be grateful for basic freedoms?

Children are clearly not affected by covid.

These goalposts are getting changed by the day. Back in january it was sold as jabbing the over 50s and then get back to normal.

Let’s get it straight. The NHS has rolled out a very successful vaccine campaign. This horrible lot in govt are taking the credit.

Herd immunity for normal Covid requires 60+% of the population to be vaccinated. Not adults. Everyone. We are currently around 44%. The Delta (Indian) variant has a higher R0, so needs more to be vaccinated - ~70%, and the Pfizer vaccine is potentially less effective, so you really need something over 80% of the population to have immunity. That is *every* adult, and some of the kids to be fully vaccinated.

And our great start to the vaccine program has slipped a bit over recent weeks/months, with a number of countries catching up and overtaking us. Although the newspapers aren't shouting about that quite as much as they were.

Bang on, if it was left to the government Hancock's mates would have been given a big brown envelope and then delivered 20 million knitting needles

I thought we were 'saving the NHS'.

By protecting the vulnerable we've done that.

We shouldn't wait for all healthy youngsters to have both jabs to start living, surely.

How long out do you think people usually book a wedding?
A Saturday in the Summer at a popular venue could well be booked out 2 years ahead - add in a backlog of an entire summer's weddings from last year and you've got an industry that's massively oversubscribed*. So a couple that managed to knock their wedding on for 12 months last year, might have done that successfully with the venue and all other suppliers, and have been crossing their fingers all year as they were promised it'd still happen - now have to re-plan everything with several vendors in the hope they can salvage something - and for many of these fairly unremarkable couples it might be a year of planning and £20k on the line.

*When I photographed only a couple of dozen weddings a year it was still common for me to shoot 2 in a weekend, I have wedding photographer mates who have 5 weddings booked on consecutive days this summer.

A fixed date. I deal with 200+ wedding bookings a year I've been rescheduling stuff since March 2020.

Again if we'd rolled out the vaccines, locked down the border and got a proper track and trace system this wouldn't be happening.
How many folk have died needlessly and how much money wasted?
How many operations and cancer treatments would now be taking place?
Bozo once again let the virus in and that will put pressure on a NHS which is already burnt out.

All so he could go to India and let folk go on holidays abroad.
Those actions have and still are affecting people.

All roads lead to the blonde liar and his inept mates

Well said. The **** ups have largely been at the borders, which is ironic, when the party in power's message was about securing them.

Basically Bojo blaming a variant he allowed in the country for the delay.

So who's fault is it again? Starmer, Corbyn, Jack the Ripper?

yeah not always easy is it? My sister booked her wedding in 2019 for July last year. She then pushed it back a year to July this year. Not really sure what else she could have done. But at the end of the day she realises it’s not about her so if she has to rearrange again she will or go ahead with the restrictions

I know 3 couples that postponed their 2020 weddings by 12 months exactly. They all thought they were being original by crossing out the '0' on all the wedding gear and writing in a '1'.

So it's those under 65 who are being hospitalised. Working age people, who would aid the spread of a variant which is more virulent.

That's why this is needed, but again who allowed this variant in allowing it to spread?

Where's the question about doing away with the stupid Amber list and putting stricter legal controls on foreign travel?
Otherwise come September we may see yet another variant going into winter.
