Always a dodgy one to compare eras I think but Ronaldo’s records speak for themselves. For what it’s worth, I think he’s well ahead of all those you’ve named there, with possibly only Pele putting up a case.
Probably a fair score on reflection of the game. Portugal don’t look much to me, although I remember thinking that last Euros and they won it so what do I know? Ronaldo is a different beast though. Not everyone’s cup of tea that’s for sure but his record is incredible.
My second team....well done Portugal...thought they played really well......love him or hate him ...its not bad for a 36 year old in todays modern game....another record in sight....3 to go....
George Best is the only one I saw play live. Pele and Eusebio only on TV games and Puskas was just before my time.
He is like a god Ronaldo that slow motion leap he does when he scores is a thing of beauty,to be that fit and healthy for one day in my life would be amazing,I can jump about as high as sausage dog in a boggy field
Pele counted goals he scored in Year 9 against his classmates. And I did say "probably" - because obviously it's subjective. But Ronaldo has excelled in the 3 strongest leagues in the world for over 15 years. He's played in and scored in every major tournament since Euro 2004. He carried his team to victory in one of those. His longevity is amazing. Left foot, right foot, excellent in the air. Incredible work rate. I'll call him the best player of the modern day - if that's more agreeable.
