Nope. There's no way they could have continued with the old mob, because of how things have changed. Not viewer number wise. Just because of societal changes. Sky tell you what you now must like - don't you grasp this? They don't allow us to tell them what we continue to like.
it's dated though. Tbh I don't have Sky a lot of the time, only got it now cos of the play offs and carried it on a month for the cricket.
I wont be watching Soccer saturday now the good old gang have left. I chose it over final score because it was more entertaining with all the banter and chemistry. Such a shame.
Gary Neville excellent at his job knows his stuff ....I was never really a fan of his until I saw that poor programme whereby Rio set up his team mates in fake situations and all was filmed by a hidden camera to capture their reactions....... Neville was one of his victims ...and was challenged by police officers ( actors )about traffic offences.....one of the alleged officers says something on the lines of let me have a selfie with you and your autograph and we can forget the ticket...Neville refused and was adamant he wasn't prepared to do this and told the officer write the ticket ...no matter what his team mates said to him about complying he was adamant to the point that Rio came out of hiding and cut the situation short.... Neville went up in my estimation
He could afford it! Seriously though I didn't know about that but it ties in with how he is as a pundit.
I find him incredibly irritating. I'm not sure he listens to what his co-hosts/pundits are saying, often asking the questions he pre-prepared even if someone has just addressed the specific point. He did this at least three times before I stopped trying to notice it yesterday. He wasn't even asking the same question to a different pundit.
Alex Scott is one of the most knowledgeable and personable pundits at the minute. Paul Merson is garbage (and still on Soccer Saturday, so the BANTZ continues). Gary Neville's analysis is second to none. Robbie Savage is insufferable. Sue Smith seems to be out of her depth. Laura Woods is a fantastic presenter. --- There are 6 people mentioned above - all of different skin colour and gender. Most sane people judge them on whether they're any good or not (which is of course subjective), but for some people, if Alex Scott or Micah Richards are on TV then it's 'box ticking'. This country is weird at times.
Gabby Logan did that yesterday afternoon on the BBC as well. She was asking the next question whilst someone was still answering the previous question. Very rude and it's like they've got a set number of questions they're going to ask and only a finite time to ask them. It makes for very off-putting coverage rather than being a fluid conversation. It puts me right off
Not read all the contributions in this thread so don't know if she's been mentioned....Emma Hayes. Knows her stuff. Astute, articulate and informative. A very pleasant change from many other "Analysts".
Has anyone ever read the column by Sam Quek in the Mirror. She is a hockey player - minority sport, but comments very thoughtfully on all things sport. One of the best columnists in my opinion.
