Not necessarily - I would say the signing of Brittain and Morris proves it isn't that binary. I believe there is value out there and it's down to the club to unearth and recruit accordingly.

If we are to progress as a club though we have to gradually improve the standard of talent we recruit, otherwise we standstill and with a bit of bad luck even go backwards as the players are cycled.
Hopefully we sell players for more money and then buy players at higher standard too.

Doesn’t take away what we have achieved so far though, th

Much as I like BW and the commitment he shows, I really don't think that he's a Championship standard player.

Trade apprenticeships at Barnsley Tec? Couldn’t hurt, keeps em out of tattoo shops. :)

Clarke Odour was awesome in that diamond under Struber.

Premiership Sheff UTD were sniffing around him.

Really hope he gets another go

Not just this, keeping players longer into their development will also see us Improve.

Anderson being the best example - from hopeless to leading defending for the division in a number of stats (interceptions etc.). Before this would have guaranteed that he would now leave for 2M, as he would be in the last year of his contract. We have him for potentially another 3 season, so no need to sell.

Next season should see him develop even further. You can make the same case with a number of players in the team.

Also having B Williams and Kitching will be like having two new players. Expect them to battle it out for LWB, with Styles moving back into CM.

To be able to ship em out. Clubs have to be interested enough to pay em more than us.
But good shout though. 2/3 maybe given more time to prove themselves.

It's an odd one, people kept calling for Struber to use him and he wouldn't but then Val hadn't either. Maybe he isn't the player we all assumed he was?

Agree, but ultimately the plan is to sell these players at some stage, so hopefully rather than buying a player like Mads when we got him, we can get someone a little bit further on and keep progressing.

Someone like Mads when we got him? You mean someone that needed 6 months to get used to a new team in a new country? That's nothing really in the grand scheme of things. I'd always expect signings to need that long, no matter how developed they are.

Kitching will play left side of back 3 not wing back

Improve the decision making for when to just hit it forwards & when there is time to take a touch and pick a pass.
Still want to see us attack at pace but can be very frustrating sometimes when a player has time to control the ball but just lumps it forward regardless.

We are capable of playing some lovely stuff at times in attack, but we need to be a bit more cultured in our decision making.

On the contrary playing next to Bambo in a back 4 while we played all the tippy tappy short goal kick nonsense might have had something to do with it.

Agree that Brittain could improve his finishing but his crossing looked pretty good to me. He got five assists last season which isn't too shabby as a wing back. And I'm not sure on the final stats but around May time only Cardiff had scored more from set pieces than us! Do think we need players with better end product up top though and we severely lack pace.

You think he improved in ability by such a degree in 6 months?

Or am I missing something here?..
