I really like Dane. After an initial quiet period when he first joined, his communication has been superb after that and I like reading/hearing the updates he gives. It would be a kick in the teeth if he leaves to a team in the same division as us but I suppose they’ll offer him a lot more money. I wonder if we have a list of candidates to take over his position like we do with other roles.
Maybe we should be looking outside the box....if its true that both seem to considering leaving and its not just paper talk....my question would be what's gone off behind the scenes that we are not privy to and is therefore suddenly upsetting the apple cart....in typical barnsley fashion its one step forward 3 steps back.....if the past is anything to go by..... It will all come out in the wash.... Keeping both DM or big Val at this stage is vital to our next step forward....in my opinion ....what ever happens ..its certainly not worth losing sleep over or getting angry over It's certainly not in our hands....no matter the outcome
That doesn't mean there's anything gone off does it? It's just rumours of someone wanting a job at a bigger club
Well not really a correction if the rumour is that they're going then the rumour is that they want to go
All that will have gone off behind the scenes if we lose any of Dane, Val and Alex is that they have been offered more money to work somewhere else. Even if all three leave I wouldn't buy in to it being because behind the scenes we are in a bad way with in fighting or whatever.
As far as I’ve read, the rumours are that they’re being sought, not that they’re seeking a move. A totally different situation - even if the outcome is the same. I’m happy to stay in my job till retirement now, no plans to go elsewhere; but if someone taps me on the shoulder and offers me work till 60 at £100k a year, I might be tempted.
You surprise me, not bothered , well it bothers me that our club could lose its chief executive , club secretary , manager & captain at the most important time as we look to sort our squad for the season , extend contracts , completed incoming & out going transfers etc & doing all this with the complete engine room being removed , I would say its a massive problem
Yes; but there are OTS packages available now, and hiring a CEO who understands how it all works and who to hire to implement it would be a shrewd move for many championship clubs.
