A couple of good Torygraph pieces about it. The south feel unloved with all the red wall leveling up talk and don't want the HS2 wrecking the countryside and hate them acting like Labour by spending so much money that the country doesn't have.

    Nonsense Tory propaganda then.

no ones deciding to vote Lib Dem because the Tories have ‘moved to the left’. Absolute garbage.

Make no mistake about it the Labour Party put resources into this seat & 662 votes is an horrendous outcome.

It’s fantastic that the Tories have lost the seat but it’s equally as bad that they’ve got so few votes despite sending lots of other MP’s to the area campaigning for the Labour candidate & her been backed publicly by Toby Blair.

I think one thing that it does show is that Blair & his cronies are despised in this country & everything they touch is toxic. Mandelson got involved in Hartlepool & that was a disaster & now Blair’s got involved in another disaster. Alistair Campbell had a week promoting mental health (yes, seriously) on GMB & viewing figures plummeted & ITV got loads of complaints & abuse about it.

It was great having a Labour government for 3 terms regardless of whether people want to call them Tory light as they were still a lot better than the real Tories but that era has long gone & the people involved should not be involved in Labour Party campaigning going forward.

Wonder if they conducted the survey before Boris’s visit yesterday with his thinly veiled I’m not apologising for my ‘letter box’ comments but I’m sorry it was taken out of context. Calendar even tried to claim he had apologised with their opening talk on the piece. Just another example of the TV and Media pushing for a Tory Victory.

Apologies I forgot you’d emigrated it wasn’t meant personally, I understand the argument of doing deals with unpalatable political opponents but the only people getting rid of Boris are his own party

If Labour manage to hold onto that seat (which I think they will) it will be down to the candidate - not the Party.

They are all over the place at the moment. I haven't a clue what their vision is and what they stand for, let alone what their policies are. If you're only policy position appears to be 'we're not the Conservatives' prepare for a hammering - North and South.

Hard to say whether they will hold or not . Batley has a rather large Muslim population ? I don't remember kier being particularly forthright on the recent happenings in Palestine and didn't come across as supportive re the allegations of anti semitism against Corbyn , the latter born out of corbyns support of Palestine . The fact that accusations of anti semitism within labour magically disappeared the moment Corbyn was disposed merely makes starmer look even weaker .

Agree and they bent the rules to get her on the ticket , she’s not been a member of the Labour Party for more than a year , 6 weeks I think , it will be close as George has the Asian vote and Starmer isn’t popular with that section of the vote because of him taking the Israeli money hence his two Commons mentions of an independant Palestine in the last week
