Not sure it’s as straight forward with sports people.
If you take football as an example, for me a young player, coach (even a young CEO) should move for experience/work at a higher level first.
That said if that person is as high as they can go in terms of standard then moving for life changing money is understandable.

In our examples, I can understand if Mowatt left for much more money. DM though, Forest it feels like, a sideways step to me and money shouldn’t be an overriding factor.

Surely Murphy has a long notice period? We can’t keep losing a CEO every other year and being without one for months. Especially in the transfer window. Eventually the club needs to protect itself against this

I would think the CEO has access to the spreadsheet and knows all the players on the radar. I think losing a CEO every other year with this information isn't great, especially to a competitor like Forest.

No reason for anyone to lose their $hit over this IMO. He’s a CEO. There are literally thousands of CEOs out there. Very replaceable.

Why? Are forest about to adopt a high pressing style? And do they have the exact same positions to fill to meet that style that we have?

Although money is important, the older I’ve got the less important it becomes. I used to earn a pretty penny working Offshore on the rigs. But the eventual toll on the family working 3wks on 3 off made me Jack it in… I now work for about half of what I was earning but am happier. The wife will probably tell you different though:D:D

I think with most people in the game today, there is very little if any loyalty, irrespective of whether they like the club etc. If someone offers them more money, more often than not they’ll be off like a shot. Just the way it is nowadays. If the aforementioned names do move on, I’ll be gutted yes, but I won’t lose any sleep over it. As much as I love the club I’ve supported and watched for the best part of 40 odd years, it doesn’t rule my life. There’ll be a time for new heroes and the club will continue to move forward(hopefully)……….. BTID

Everyone was predicting dire times ahead for us when managers etc have left in the past but unless my short term memory is playing tricks we didn't do too badly last season. Would love to watch Barnsley in as high a league as possible but at the end of the day I just want to watch Barnsley wherever they are league wise
