Val did an INCREDIBLE job here last year and was bound to have more than admiring glances from bigger clubs. Is anyone really shocked he’s moving on? The biggest shame is we couldn’t fully enjoy the ride in the stadium and give him a proper welcome and send off. The compensation amount will go back into the running of the club post lockdowns and covid. It’s not like it’ll be utilised on players etc.

WBA be getting my £10 to be promoted this coming season that’s for certain.

As for us. I’d love to go and see us nab Chris Wilder if only to really annoy the Blades fans but that won’t happen. What about Blessin at Oostende? In reality it’ll be someone completely left field we’ve not heard of. I just hope the new man doesn’t come into a squad that’s been decimated of all its best players from last season.

The technical director who was charged with finding a replacement for Allardyce was booted. The CEO is now in charge of it so I suspect the parameters have shifted.

Seems a nice fella, loved the results he got and his part in galvanising the club, but HATED the style of play. I'd have preferred him to stay, but not bairnin' if he goes. We'll move on.

What that we should ask for more money to put other clubs off talent we have identified and given a platform for them to perform?

I might be wrong but I feel sure that when Struber moved on the buy out fee was published by the club ,I see no reason why when the £2 million figure for Val has been made so public why they should suddenly try to disguise it

The skipper is out of contract (BFC have offererd him the biggest pay deal in the clubs history to stay)

Big Val has a £2million release clause (it now appears to have been triggered)

Dane Murphy (no idea if he is going to Forest or not but money talks and he will more than likely have more to work with there than here)

Thats basically the reality of the situation.

I do not think it has anything to do with Lincoln holding on to their manager & us not, I believe it was Appleton who decided against it & therefore Lincoln must have allowed a West Brom approach in the first place .

Yeah, because if we do that it will put off the very talent we're trying to attract.

Yea, that's why the first line of my post said "Taking the reality of the business and operational strategies out of this..."

My post was about the impact it has on the fans. Maybe not all, but most.

If my Mrs left me for a bloke with a load more money and a bigger nkob, I could understand her motivation for doing so and the reality of the situation.

But I'd be fcu ked if I'd be thanking the fcu ker for the memories, patting her on the back and wishing her well.

Maybe you shouldn't look at your football club as a direct comparison to your wife.

If they are having to double it? the quote says compensation amount was agreed it doesn't say the release clause was met just because the release clause was £2 million doesn't necessarily mean that's the figure the board have accepted they may have accepted say £500k

Think circumstances helped last season. We had a young fit side and the availability of 5 subs coupled with number of games over a short period.
Our results slowed down when games settled down with more rest between for the other squads.

Now going back to 3 subs and older squad might find it harder to replicate what he built here.

his technical abilities going to be questioned more in a more unforgiving environment.

Be interesting to see how things go!

I'm sure Chris Wilder was first choice...then Wagner who took Hudders up then Appleton.
    So VI is no 4
