the early bird catches …….. - the fans that were on the fence - the fans that thought the club were finally starting to actually build a team - the fans that wanted to go and support what val and the club were doing given we could go last season - ?
All these outgoings. Assume you’re meaning Mowatt, Dike, Val and Dane? The chances were always pretty high that the first two were going/not staying if we didn’t get promoted. Val was hardly going to have the West Brom gig lined up when we were still fighting for promotion and then relegation, and to be honest CEO moves are a bizarre thing in football anyway and beat to their own drum. Should we have announced departures before the Playoffs?
something that always bothers me is fans complaining about changes after they’ve bought a season ticket. You buy a ticket to watch a season of football games. If personnel changes effect your desire to watch them you’re probably not invested enough to be buying a season ticket. It’s like buying a cinema ticket and complaining the movie wasn’t as good as you thought.
What about Southgate he minght be out of a job soon. some on here didn't like vals direct style we could go for the exact opposite the defensive sideways backwards play football in your own half style.
I don't want Murray as manager, but would like him to continue to be an assistant to whoever comes in. He's provided continuity between the managers each playing a different version of the press and is ideally placed to assist the new manager to adapt their version of it too (as we know this will be a requirement of the search). Murray seems content to be a #2, and it's a role where we've actually had some continuity in place through Stendel, Struber and Ismael. Given our turnover of head coaches, and the likelihood that this is going to continue further, then his importance as part of the backroom staff is increasing with each appointment.
Agree with the sentiment there. The more attritional this method of operating is, the more it needs some form of ballast to be there through the turbulence. Think that goes on the playing side and admin side. I'm not sure Murphy would be such a big loss as say Cryne or Zuk, but it's undoubtedly a distraction, a distraction while a transfer window is open too. The disappointing thing is that so many changes are seemingly going to happen at once and potentially have a compound effect.
Murray has said on more than one occasion that he wants to manage again. He's been linked with league 2 clubs a few times, but I think he's holding out to see if he finally gets the job permanent here, knowing full well that we have a high turnover of head coaches.
Have you got a link to this mate? Always thought he said the opposite so be interested in reading it.
Murray’s not the answer for me. People may harp on about him knowing the squad etc etc but it’ll be a cheap appointment. Absolute statement saying Lack of ambition (if that’s possible) if they give him the job. He’s had a couple of cracks at it.
I've no idea where I read it, but I'm sure he said something down the lines of, he wasn't ready for management when he was at Mansfield, but he thinks he's ready for another crack at it now. This was when Struber left. I could be misremembering though.
What point are you making ? please enlarge or are you saying that when the club put the tickets on sale we were in with a chance of making the premier league & they were sold at a very cheap price yet they new that all these outgoings were going to happen , well that is a nonsense .
