I think it says a lot when commenting on the successes of brexit in the house of commons yesterday on its 5th anniversary the punched bag of straw only came up with Euroports and the vaccines. Both nothing to do with Brexit.
I think if there were any, we would be hearing about them every hour on the hour with this lot and we'd have Nigel popping up every minute to tell us he told us so and saying your welcome.

Hotel WiFi? Surely us Brits won't be allowed to use that. The Daily Mail have said those nasty EU people won't give us anything for free. Or was that Lord Frost?

But..... all leavers said there was no way roaming charges would be reintroduced!

It starts with one operator. The rest will follow. And over time, the floor limits will get more painful and the costs enhanced.

Didn't we pull in all the existing laws into UK law at the time of leaving?

Apart from blatant profiteering, this should be directed at the operator involved?

In no way am I defending the government here btw

I recall saying at the time that the operators would do this, it's market forces, why wouldn't they do this? Many leavers were adamant it wouldn't happen, including DePfeffel and his leave cabal.

I blame those who are now in government for lying at the time. A small swing would have delivered a remain result. Telling people their mobile phone bill would go up again while on holiday may have been something that assisted in delivering that small swing to remain.

100% agree. Bear in mind the top 4 UK operators own most of the EU mobile companies anyway, it’s blatant profiteering.

There’s clearly no increased physical cost since Brexit.

I think it will change again - it only takes 1 UK operator to advertise they’re keeping their roaming charges free, and using that as a marketing differentiator, the they’ll all eventually fall back into line.

Mobile contracts are very similarly priced throughout the industry. I’ve been with O2 for years - but will happily switch to EE if they keep the roaming charges free. Many others will too. Parents with young kids who use YouTube etc for cartoons etc will swap straight away too.

A high quality movie can be up to 20gb.

When I’m on holiday I tend to use my phone data for everything and not bother with WiFi. I have unlimited data though worldwide with Three (for £25 a month!)

I’m not kidding when I say that I can go through hundreds of gigabytes of data in a holiday. Obviously it depends on the holiday type, but I tend to like just sitting back and relaxing on holidays
