    Put Styles in the middle.

Put J.Williams or the wonderful talent Clarke Odour on the left.

Get a head coach who plays the gegengress.

    Easy.

I've got absolutely no idea why people keep suggesting Jordan Williams is the solution at left back/left wing back. Completely baffles me.

Season before last he was a dreadful right back, way out of his depth at championship level. After the Covid break, he did a decent job at filling in on the left side of a 3 at the back, for which he deserves much credit.

Last season he played a handful of games in both wing back positions, and showed he's matured a load. There's plenty of potential in him, he's still very young and will get better.

But he's a right back (and a very right footed one at that), so let him continue his development in his position. He's sure as hell not our long term left back.

We absolutely do need Alex Mowatt.

Hope this helps, as a great man once said.

I think you might be underestimating how much of a leader he became in the dressing room in the last couple of seasons. Obviously we might recruit someone that brings that but...

I just think it wont be armaggedon if he leaves.

If he wanted to sign he would already have. turned out to be a top player for us after his Oxford loan but I've always believed if they don't want to play for us its bye bye time .we need players with the proper mentality who want to have pride and desire to put the shirt on .as for big val good look but his tactics were soon found out Wednesday result for 1

Don't care really whether they do want to play for us or not as long as they're professional and put the effort in while at the club!

    I think he's a solid championship player.

I imagine it will be a club who finished below us last season who can pay 15-25k a week wages.

Our centre mid looked light even with Mowatt.
Both Palmer and Kane have not been anywhere near good enough. Kane's been a big disappointment especially for the money we paid..
Vital that area is strengthened before next season. Also leftback.

    Romal Palmer is great

Halme does a job in there

    Styles can move across

And we can always sign another

I thought midfield was our weakest area by a distance last season, particularly once James went. Though it wasn't helped by our style which often bypassed it or encouraged them to help it on.

But out of the midfielders we had (once James went), Mowatt was far and away our most influential player in there.

We could of course sign an even better replacement. Though that would be unlikely with our budget, certainly not immediately better.

As for the others, Palmer never really put his mark on a game. Styles was always preferred wide. Halme was a sticking plaster because we didn't have enough options and had very poor touch. Kane hasn't emerged as yet, but there is plenty of time.

If we take out Mowatt, at this stage I don't see a midfield that would trouble the top 6.
