I think this is going to be one of those ‘wait and see’ styles. Obviously I’m charge of an ‘unfashionable’ team and getting results, so there’s mentions of a press but then also that he likes counter attacking football after absorbing pressure. Can you do both as that feels like a head scratcher? And is that because he doesn’t have the players to play differently? At least if the counter attacking part is true it’s unlikely to mean pissing around at the back and ruining Madds again.
Let's hope it doesn't turn into a Schopp of Horrors. By the way, I've never heard of this Schopp fellow. Does he meet this Brexit criteria loads have been talking about?
Tactical analysis of him using wing backs here: https://totalfootballanalysis.com/m...tberg-vs-sturm-graz-tactical-analysis-tactics
Is he any good though? What is the recent obsession with Austrians & the Austrian leagues? Is it really regarded as a European powerhouse when it comes to football, or are we just Schopping in Poundland again
Me going shopping for something: First shop I go in: Have you got my size? Yes - here it is sir..... That'll do thanks. Back home in half an hour Wife going shopping: First shop... Have you got my size... Yes - here it is.... mmmm, not sure it looks all right, but I need to go look at some more. 12 shops later, back at the first shop. Yes I'll have that one. 7 hours in town via the cafe for a coffee and sandwich. Get's home.... Can you make my Tea luv - I've had a right day shopping, can hardly walk now lol
Not overly excited by the tactical analysis. Defending deep and compact. The high press in the opposition's half as soon as we lose the ball resigned to history as players drop back into shape. Vunerable to long diagonal balls. We would appear to become a counter attacking side low percentage of possession but quick transition from defending to attack through vertical football. Hopefully not the hoof ball approach. Time will tell if Markus Schopp will be arriving as our new Manager. From the Austrian press it appears we have already been in negotiations and the deal almost completed. Val was always likely to be off no real surprise after what he achieved. Planning his replacement probably well in hand.
Evidently the new away kit is yellow, green, blue, purple and orange stripes!!! We're now going to be Barnsleys Multi Coloured Swap Schopp
TBH if its true I think the club deserve credit for having somebody on their radar and ready to go, not waiting while the tranfer window is closed and still dithering
