Yes you are probably right. At my age I'll admit I'm not very tech savvy. I didn't go on a tirade,I just tried to add some balance.
What balance is there to add though? Eye witnesses saw the incident, and with Mr Chapman's remarks, it only adds credence to the claims.
Mr Chapman had nothing to do with the club when the alleged (frankly dispicable) act was supposed to have taken place
I'm not picking a fight with anyone. I was involved at the club at that time(2006 if I recall). If I had seen the alleged incident, the guilt party would hve been bounced out of the club with my boot up his arse.
Sorry. As I posted eariler I probably replied to the wrong post as my tech skills are very poor. I have met Adil Rashid on a couple of occasions but have no comment on him or how he behaves. I have known Azeem since he arrived in the country ( he was about 9 or 10 ).
You are absolutely spot on. I have lived in Barnsley all my life and have come across some propper odious aresoles, but no more than anywhere else.Martin Moxon and his late father Derek are two of the nicest people I have ever known. I find it very difficult to beleive racism is in his skill set.
Apparently this is an apology. I mean it probably was... 50 years ago. Yorkshire need to own this and heads need to roll. If not it's going to become harder and harder to remain a supporter of them. https://www.yorkshireccc.com/news/view/9465/club-statement
Maybe I'm reading it wrong but an apology was made? Obviously the proof of the pudding will be the measures put in place now to ensure that no one else has to go through what he went through.
"there were allegations..most of which relate to a period more then ten years ago." "...historically, Azeem was the victim of inappropriate behaviour" "Not our fault, long time ago, not that bad" Well done Yorkshire, if I was black or Asian I'd be queuing up to play for such a progressive club which has accepted the scope of the problem and is willing to fix it...... Love the use of "inappropriate behaviour, can't even accept it was racist, wanted to bung him 100k to shut up though didn't they? That's a hell of a sum of money for "just" inappropriate behaviour.
Yes I guess they were keen to distance themselves from having a problem now. To be honest I don't know enough to say if the issues back then are still a problem today.
If they aren't willing to admit to the problem before, then they won't have done anything to change it, ok we can rely on them saying "it won't happen again", but without concrete evidence that someone in the club has recognised the problem and people are being told about ways to behave, etc, etc then whats to say its not happening now and won't happen in the future?
Apparently lots of current and ex players didn't come out of the investigation well. Expect names to follow when more dirt comes out. That statement is poor.
Disgraceful statement, can't see much changing when two of the alleged main culprits are still in senior positions at the club.
Must have missed this at the time but I wasn’t aware there were any specific allegations against Martin Moxon . The statement is a joke though , if it’s an independent report just publish it
