    Yeah, my wife enjoyed the book and we went to watch it based on that. She said it was crap too.

    Dances with Wolves - utter bore fest - lasted about 45m - went to watch the paint dry instead, much better viewing (especially with a few tinnies)

    Well technically I couldn’t walk out as I was at 38000 feet but if it was the cinema I would have

    i love sci-fi but I had absolutely no idea what was going off!

    Ironically the first 45 mins is the least dull. What did you expect a 3 hour Western about Native Americans to be like? it's a fantastic film.

    I've never walked out of a film or from a match for that matter. I came close a couple of times - Vanilla Sky comes to mind. But you can't walk out when you're on a date. They don't like it.

    Know what you mean about getting the film wrong when they changed once a week. Did the same in the Odeon and the film they were showing was Psycho. I'd never heard of it and it scared the s*** out of me.

    Well if you're ever at 38,000ft and they tell you they're going to put Mamma Mia on, open the cabin door and jump. Better to make it quick.

    Never watched Mamma Mia, never will. Not a big ABBA fan to be fair.
    I expect it’s a bit like the Eurovision Song Contest with acting. Bloody awful, but that’s another thread altogether!

    'The Postman', with Kevin Costner, awful, just awful.

    During a 'poignant' scene where a little boy was holding up a letter and the hero postman galloped through the dust to collect it, loads of people in the audience burst out laughing at how bad it was and left in droves.

    I've avoided the film, but did enjoy the book for that. Or at least the premise was more memorable than many of the books I've read through the years.

    Never not finished a book, but walked out of Pixar's Cars when my eldest (then an infant) fell asleep.

    For clarity I did take the child with me.

    Never have. Don’t really do mainstream, so know generally know what I’m getting in advance. Plus I’m too mean to waste money.
    sounds like some things just aren’t folk’s cuppa tea, rather than being utterly crap? & that’s their look out. :)

    I don't remember walking out of a cinema earlier. I think I nearly did in one called Spanglish, but that film memory feels too implausible to be credible. That film can't have been real. I'm sure it was just a bad dream.

    The best mass walk-out I ever saw was when they reissued A Clockwork Orange around the millennium. During/ after Singing in the Rain it felt like a third of the cinema walked out. It was amazing.

    that's the only film I've ever walked out of. Lasted about 20 minutes then left, it was utter garbage.

    Love Vanilla Sky. I do remember though being in work and a guy Id sent to see it on recommendation came up and said he now needed me to explain to him what the hell the film was about, so possibly not every cup of tea :)
