When we piss the league next season and are promoted by March, the players can hoist the gaffer aloft on their shoulders in celebration of his achievements.

    Schopp-lifters.

I’ve seen an article that says Murphy has not resigned but his 2 year contract comes to an end in June so that makes things easier for forest

Yeah this is the most bizarre thing. Even if it's got to be a fixed term contract (somebody mentioned that was due to visa issues?), you can't have your CEO's contract entering it's last 6 months without an extension being added. It's mental.

I'm hoping that if this is true the club know about him leaving for a while and we have another CEO ready to start on 1st July. If not it's a horrendous bit of mismanagement by whoever is in charge of that - Conway?

If Noel Edmunds sorts out the deal (or no deal) it could be a Multi Coloured Swap Schopp.

Austrian Sky reporting He’s in Barnsley today to look around and hopefully complete his move:

    https://www.skysportaustria.at/bericht-hartberg-trainer-schopp-zu-verhandlungen-in-england/

    Translated it for you:

The change from Hartberg's coach Markus Schopp to the English second division club FC Barnsely is taking on more and more concrete forms. As the “Krone” reports, Schopp will travel to England for negotiations on Monday.

Schopp wants to get an idea on site in Barnsley and then decide about his future. “He should have a look, he'll be back on Tuesday. Then we'll see, ”said Hartberg's sports director Erich Korherr.

Korherr has not yet contacted any possible successor candidates: "That would not be fair to Markus."

I have quite big concerns about Schopp's preferred formation as reported to be 4141, or 4231. Our squad is set up now as 343 in that we have cover for that formation in each area of defence, midfield and forward. Numbers quoted below assume cover in each area, so twice the on-field formation. Before we switched from Struber's 532, or 352, we needed six central defenders, ten midfielders, of whom four needed to be able to play wing back, and four forwards in order to have cover in each area. When we switched to Ismael's 343, we still needed six defenders (so little disruption), but now only eight midfielders (so we could afford to lose a couple, including Luke Thomas) and six forwards, not four (so we signed Dike and Morris in January and the system was covered). If we are to switch to 4141, or 4231, we need four central defenders, not six and four full backs, not necessarily wing backs. Need two who can play defensive midfielder (or four if 4231) and four who can play winger. We only need two forwards, both of whom need to be target men. That would be quite s squad restructure, unless Schopp can get the best out of the current squad, but playing in positions to which they are not accustomed last season. I just wonder if Schopp, presuming that he does come in, could be pragmatic and settle for some form of the 343 which utilises best the strengths of the current squad. I really hope so, otherwise it would look like a significant rebuild would be required. Stick to some form of the 343 which worked last season!!

I'd like to think no manager is going to come in and make wholesale changes following the success of last season.

If he's a shape shifter perhaps one of those concrete forms could be a bridge over the railway line??

Yeah that site is a joke really. They’ve taken a basic link between blessin and Barnsley through our owners and fabricated the entire story.

If they bothered to do any research they would see he doesn’t meet the criteria to move to Barnsley.

they would also find Schopp has been well on our radar for over a week now and was a candidate when we hired Val too.

    really poor journalism
