what a class act he is, been a constant pain in england's arse during his days but very magnanimous in defeat, always remember him been twatted at oakwell and got a standing ovation going off by our fans, chuffed to bits we beat the germans but he took it well too, publicly anyway
No it was De Zeuw. Accidentally, one of those where ball bounced up and Jurgen stooped to head and De Zeeuw trying to hoof it. I spoke to De Zeeuw day after in Tesco’s and he told me that he’d been up to the hospital and spoke to Jurgen who accepted it was an accident and nothing malicious
Completely agree. I suppose it comes with the territory of being on British TV for the game but he was still class.
That night a friend’s daughter was in a car accident and taken to BGH. Straight after the game We went to see her in A & E as her parents were in Bingley. In the next cubicle was Klinsman nursing a broken jaw courtesy of , I think, Chris Morgan.
Loved how he laughed when Ferdinand said you could throw a blanket over em and Lineker said being the Germans surely you mean a towel
I think he's about the only one who actually wants it. Everyone else they've spoken to has turned it down!
If I'm not mistaken he told jug ears that he'd be interested in the spurs job live on TV....but Levy hadn't got back to him since the last time the pair of them spoke ...whilst attending. an event together....jugs then said so are you interested then and JK...of course iam tell lhim to give me a call he's got my number ...
Total legend for Spurs. Oh to be 9 again in my Tottenham shirt doing a Klinsmann after knocking it past my mate Adam trying to close me down doing a Neviller Southall in backyard.
Jurgen always top class, proper gentleman. Hated him until he came to this country. Then realised for all his diving in Italy and for West Germany he actually was a top bloke. Amazing how he adapted his game to play in English football.
despite our hate for germans, his dive bomber celebration at swillsboro will never be forgotten he and ricky ponting will be forever hated yet loved for their contributions to their respective games
