    Remember when Allan Clarke left for Leeds, he took long-serving player and Coach Barry Murphy, Chief Scout Martin Wilkinson and wanted to take Norman Rimmington but Norman refused. It’s not new we’ll get over it.

    While I don't know whether or not their services will be greatly missed it has surely put a strain on any feelgood/togetherness factor left over from last season.
    Must be a bit depressing down at oakwell at the moment. Think our new gaffer's first task might be to lift the spirit around the place.
    I think that togetherness counted for a lot last season, we were greater than the sum of our parts. :(

    So with no sports scientist, no analyst and no CEO in place, am I right in thinking that player recruitment and development has completely come to a halt? Worrying times.

    No great concern to me and it was quite likely to happen. Val as new manager at the Baggies will want to take his trusted staff with him and so will Markus want to bring in his own backroom staff, Brexit rules permitting. He will know who he wants and I wouldn't think that we will be kept waiting for long to find out. No great alarms for me. We have a stable squad, who have been together for over a season and have already proved that they can do it. Out with the old. Bring in the new. Thanks to the former regime for all they have done to establish the club where it stands today. Well done, chaps!

    Yep - part of the food chain. Where do yoU think we are on that? I've had a quick look at the Leagues tables and I've got us at number 63 out of 92. Not bad for 'Lil ol Barnsley'.

    The sport scientist and analyst are part of the coaching team, not the recruitment team.

    Recruitment is done by the recruitment team, which I'm not sure if Dane is/was part of, but I suspect it'll carry on as before.
