Hopefully when social distancing, masks and rule of six all supposedly get scrapped in a few weeks places can recover.
We went to the White Bull at Cannon Hall for lunch yesterday and were astonished to see that they weren't serving alcohol. I queried on what basis that was, and apparently it's because you order your food at the counter rather than your order being taken at the table. It may be that in turn tells you something about the age of the waiting staff (and what they are probably being paid!). That said, the place was still rammed. Strange times we live in!
You can have 40k in wembley. Thousands at the tennis and the gee gees. Pictures of the tube rammed. Pandemics over. Not on his push iron. Used to see him regularly while loitering in town after I got laid off. Saw him about a fortnight ago outside coffeeboy with his missus. He looked well. And punching well above his considerable weight. If they serve beer they are required to have table service by law. Its not required if you only serve coffee and pop. Cos Covid only affects people standing up to buy a pint.
You sound surprised at the confusing policies (being polite ) of this **** show of a government ? Remember the PMs a racist and he got Brexit done so anything’s forgivable especially in the red wall area .
I wouldn't hold your breath. I reckon we'll see some things lifted but would be very surprised if they drop everything. They'll still want to be seen to be cautious, they obviously have no idea what running an actual business or working in hospitality is like and pubs have been the favoured punching bag so far, so I'm waiting to see what kind of mad thing they come up with. Even looking forward to it in a perverse kind of way!
Tarn in midweek was often very quiet before the pandemic with many pubs and bars not opening. In fact it wasn’t always heaving at the weekends. When the new development opens up properly and the football season starts perhaps we’ll see more people
