Looks like Sam Johnstone could be on his way out of West Brom to the Premier League. How much do you think it would take for West Brom to prise away Collins, assuming we're not going to utilise our goalkeeper on the halfway line this season, and that there isn't much between him and Walton in the penalty area...
Collins was excellent in the role we played him last season, but I think Walton looks to have the makings of a great keeper too so you would think one of them will want to leave sooner or later.
I much prefer Walton although Collins is no mug , however I think Val & West Brom will not be shopping at Aldi & if they lose Johnstone I think they will be looking for a keeper with experience at a higher level than our two
Dunno, if he is looking to play the same system I think Collins would be top of the list. It's such a different role to what keepers generally play elsewhere that I think he'd prefer Collins (who did it over an extended period impeccably) rather than taking a gamble on someone who might be better regarded as a conventional keeper but is an unknown quantity as an aggressive sweeper keeper.
Collins did great 2nd half of last season especially with the sweeper keeper role we have 2 good goalkeepers walton is a great shot stopper but prone to the odd error I think he has a great career ahead of him. If west brom were to come for collins I'd hope we would want a good few million as he still have a long time on his contract and we don't need to sell.
If we have to sell a player this summer to raise some funds I’d be happy to sell Collins. We have a great replacement in Walton and you can pick up a second choice keeper pretty cheaply
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Alex Palmer step up and replace Johnston. He was on loan at Lincoln last year and was very highly regarded
