Im sick of hearing people saying it was a soft penalty. This day and age unfortunately it probably was as every other foul is not a foul. But if the pen was soft then the foul for their free kick was even softer but nobody mentions that.

I think it was a clear penalty, personally.

I think all the people going on about it being soft and “never a penalty” etc we’re looking only at the player at the ‘front’ in most of the replays. I think the other defender is the one that committed the foul. The one that put his leg in front of Sterling and brought him down.

Personally, I wouldn't have given it.

I would however have given the one that was waved away when Kane was hacked down in the box 2nd half.

Totally agree. It was soft and once given was never gunna be overturned. The one on kane was a pen and not given clear foul. The freekick for there 1st goal was soft also although a great strike.

The Kane "penalty" was not awarded because the ref had blown for a foul by Kane in winning the ball in the first place.
As for the Sterling pen I fully agree. Fouls like that are given as free kicks countless times in other areas of the pitch.
If Denmark hadn't shut up shop after 60 minutes maybe Sterling might have been back defending at that point instead of running into their area.
    Best team won.

I think some people just prefer to do England down, probably out of habit after decades of disappointment. I've seen complaints of dodgy pen (definite pen), only scored an og (would've been a tap in otherwise) and that England didn't create much (Schmeichel was their best player).

Absolutely. If you decide you’re just going to defend your own 18 yard line from the 60th minute it’s pretty obvious that the attacking side will be running with the ball in your back and the penalty risk goes up massively. Denmark did really well but we’re ultimately defeated by their own tactics. Fortune favours the brave.

If we'd been knocked out by a penalty decision like that, there would be a five year thread about how we were robbed.
