According to this lovely person maybe 5,000 got in without tickets. Either through violence, or bribery of stewards, and this is the National Football Stadium. There are no words really......

 

I suppose the question is would they have done it if they knew there wouldn't be any empty seats? And if not, should the entire stadium have been opened given restrictions are ending a week later? Not to condone their behaviour at all.

 

Read somewhere that Mancini son watched the first half sat on steps because someone without a ticket took his seat and then second half he found an untaken seat.
I have no idea why he did this, but it does raise question of what was going on in stadium with stewarding etc.

 

I think these kind of people have always tried to get into football stadiums without tickets, even knowing it is a sellout. Well, not always, but as far back as the sixties at least. You're right, nobody could condone their behaviour and, of course, "Pablo" tries to justify his actions, and others', by saying there were all those empty seats and they weren't taking anyone else's seat. That might be correct but it's still a criminal act which, presumably, most have got away with.

The trouble is that now that this has happened copycat actions will be seen all next season. Sold out at (wherever)? No problem, we're going in anyway

 

That is odd and in my experience if you even dwell on the steps for a few seconds you are moved on. It doesn't stop people standing chatting with mates, or standing trying to work out where their seat is, but the stewards often jump in to clear the gangways. I suppose in a crowd this size, with so many sitting on the steps, or standing at different times, the stewards probably just thought "leave em, I don't care!

 

Matt Fitzpatrick was in the playoff for the Scottish Open apparently he got to Wembley with ten minutes left and they wouldn’t let him in .

 

Dint this happen with Man Utd fans at Oakwell years ago.

 

I had a great analogy about thousands of Wednesday fans storming the gates at Swillsborough. Unfortunately for me, it turns out that they were trying to break out!

 

Can remember em breaking into Oakwell well clambering over wall when they turned up late for kick off and turnstiles couldn`t get em through quick enough.

 

Pontefract Collieries used let you in for free in the second half.

 

One thing this proves is that the 'national stadium' should never, ever have been built on that site. I've been to European Championships and World Cups all over the world and the one, common factor is that you wouldn't get anywhere near any of the stadiums on matchday without having to get through several, properly-secured ticket checkpoints, often several hundred yards from the stadium. To give Wembley that national stadium status in such a congested, built-up bit of North London, then hand it games of this magnitude, was fu¢king insane.

Stoke away in the cup was absolute lunacy. There were way too many in the away end

 

It only that, they’ve built on any available piece of land around it since. The car park we were in for the Oxford game had been built on by the time we went for the Millwall game a couple of months after. Wembley way, looks like one big built up area now

 

Yet when the area wasn’t built up everyone was complaining it was in the middle of nowhere and there was nothing to do around there.

 

It's never been in the middle of nowhere.

Apparently it's a common occurence, Man Utd fans were doing it in 2011.

 

So because his Dad is 52 and might never see England in a Wembley final again that was alright was it?!
I wish I'd known, me and another 40 million or so with equally valid excuses could have gone too.
