Mine gives a couple of coos then a surprised squawk as it lands on our bird bath and it unexpectedly starts to sway from side to side. I assume it translates as "Which ****ing idiot made this?"
Having had wood pigeons at just about every house I've lived in for the first time ever I live where we don't have any. The fir trees round the house are full of magpies who are noisy sods and a fair few hooded crows.
We are in our tourer on the East Coast for the season and we have a blackbird that sings out ‘red army’ among its repertoire! I feed it every day!
His brother lives near us. Every time I hear him I follow it up with a “red army” drives the Mrs nuts
I can make a good impression of a wood pigeon by cupping my hands together and blowing through my thumbs - it does bring them to the garden and we happily coo away to each other for hours! (kids think I've finally lost it)
