Derby - financial basket case Huddersfield - one recent ex-PL side usually drops, and they have been very poor for a while now Peterborough - because their chairman is a complete Richard Head Other contenders: Reading - another financial basket case, who were absolutely rubbish last season after fluking a few wins early on Blackburn - financially very dubiously run, so may well have to sell Armstrong, without whom they'd have possibly gone down last season Sheffield United - a bit of an outside punt, but losing is a very hard habit to break. Realistically they should be fine, though I don't expect them to go back up.
Derby, Hull, Blackpool. Worst 2 sides and one that shouldn't even be there. Agree on Peterborough chairman but having lived in those parts, their fans are a good bunch so I hope they get a decent run at this level.
I think Luton will struggle, Collins is a massive loss for them. I do think if we lose another couple of players out of Anderson, Helik, Brittain, Morris & Styles that we’ll be a contender but for now I’ll give us the benefit of the doubt that we’ll not sell anyone else. I’ll go Luton, Birmingham & Derby. I feel like all 3 newly promoted sides will just about have enough. I can’t see anyone been cast adrift & think it could be 7 or 8 involved right down to the wire.
I think it depends how you start the season. Reading would have been one of my favourites last season but for their amazing start. Points on the board will get rid of any lingering relegation fears. I'd have to include us in that list of teams, just because I don't feel we're established yet. I know last season was amazing but part of me wonders if it was a flash in the pan after two seasons which were polar opposites. Are we somewhere in the middle? I don't know. It will be interesting to see who we bring in.
Agree with that completely, Luton would be in my 3. Suspect Blackpool may struggle too... though after what they endured under Oyston, I really hope they stay above the red line.
Think this season the league's probably at its most competitive for a while, i can't see any team walking away with it, but i agree derby will struggle, has rooney got the guts for a battle? Luton may well struggle and I've a feeling hull will be at the bottom
Sheffield United have a good manager and a strong squad for this league. They’ll rightly be one of the faves for Automatic. Berg will be off for c35m so they will no doubt have money to spend with the parachute money as well.
I was only thinking about this this morning, & I can’t shake Birmingham out of my head for nailed on relegation certs.
Derby, Blackpool and Posh for me. Reckon Posh could lose Clarke-Harris at some point and if they do they will struggle.
A lot of people on here are mentioning Birmingham. They finished last season really strongly, so it'll be interesting to see if they can carry it on or they'll revert to type.
