I'm just pottering around the garden having a tinny like you do and I don't know if the sun is getting to me but could we be taken over in the next year or two. We seen a couple of high profile members of last season leave ie CEO, secretary and medical gaffer and reached by a couple of men who have connections with Man City. Could these two guys be sussing us out behind the scenes and laying the ground works for a change of hands by someone who is friendly with MCFC owner or like I said its the sun and my beloved team are progressing in the correct direction. Anyway I will open this up for debate whilst it's all quiet on the western front. Enjoy the Reay of the weekend.
I suspect the owners would be open to offers, the club is definitely worth more then when they came in, the complication being the Cryne situation.
They didn't keep Nice for long. That seemed a complex relationship too, not sure they made any profit from that flirtation with ownership.
Thought they made a tiny fortune as the money used to buy the club was paid by back the club? Akin to the Glazers at Man United?
Not sure. There was talk of some dodgy loan with horrendous service charges. Didn't the Ineos guy buy them?
Nice!! I wasn't questioning Loko by the way, just genuinely never knew if they'd made a buck or walked away.
I don't think it would as easy to sell the club fully as they don't own the club outright which I suspect wouldn't make it as an attractive proposition. However, I'm surprised Red Bull don't have an English club and since our operating model is very similar to theirs then what price RB Barnsley in the future?^ ^ Note: this not based on any facts or exisiting information and is essentially me being daft and making 2+2 equal 23
TBH, when they first bought us and for teh first year or so, I thought exactly the same, build us up to be of interest to someone like RB and then look to sell us to them. However as time has progressed and they've added more teams to their portfolio I'm not too sure if it will be as feasible or worthwhile. It now looks as if they are trying to create their own RB portfolio without the big name sponsor.
I'm watching the excellent Ken Burns documentary on the life of Hemingway. Quote from programme last night .."He thought he was the oracle for everything." That's what we need to answer your question. ....please step forward....whoever you are.
