I was going to suggest getting it reconditioned until I read further and saw that you’d already found a new (old) one. Hopefully that doesn’t come with the same problems. Fingers crossed you get it all sorted soon!
Another update, our gearbox arrived today, just got to book her in to have it fitted now and we'll be back on the road
Did you do/have you done the NC 500? A friend of ours just returned last week having spent 16 days going it. He's done it before on motor bike and car but this time in his vw campervan. He enjoyed it but said it was nose to tail motor homes campers and caravans. Some of them weren't suitable for the narrow winding roads.
No not done that, not really been to Scotland much at all till last month, one day in Edinburgh in the 90s and a week on Arran 2 years ago. We're thinking of having a week away after it's back on the road but I think everywhere is going to be rammed
I've just finished/ finishing converting t6. Be looking for somewhere to try it out in the coming weeks. Was thinking about the 500 but mates experience is putting me off a bit. Will try Scotland though. Hope your repair is successful.
My mate bought a caravan some years ago and thought it a good idea to try a dummy run before setting off on his big holiday. However, he also thought it a good idea to tell everybody in the football club where he and his family were going,,,,,, Greensprings Caravan Park Campground, RV parks Rockley Lane, Barnsley · 01226 288298 The pill ocking was relentless, passports? currency? injections,,,,,,,,
Another update, thought I'd got somebody to reassemble the van but they gave up when they couldn't get a clutch kit. It took me 10 minutes to find one from a German supplier.... Anyway I found a little garage half a mile away that will do it. Just got to call them when the clutch kit arrives. At least it shouldn't be scuppered by Brexit because we are not doing customs checks on imports yet..... It'd be just my luck for the UK to start doing checks when it arrives in Dover.
