Found out today that not only fruit shoot drinks make a test go positive.. (what some of the kids been using to skive off school) But also hand sanitizer anywhere near the swab sends it positive...

Thats interesting - must admit Ive always washed hands before doing one as its easier to do them in the bathroom using the mirror over the sink to see where you are pointing the thing - but I can imagine using hand sanitiser - especially if doing a PCR test in your car

The instructions have always said to *wash* your hands and not put the swab near anything other than your mouth and nose. If people aren’t following their instructions it’s no surprise that they are breaking the tests. It may get that child a day or two at home (and hopefully a grounding) but it won’t impact on anyone else as schools don’t send anyone else home until a PCR test has been confirmed. If I was a parent and my kid did that then they’d be grounded for the 10 days they’ve have to self isolate (apart from for school) and then we’d see how funny they found it and if they’d do it again.

I had 2 positives from the LF tests and had to go and get a PCR, both negative. Took the view that I've never routinely tested myself for anything when I'm not showing symptoms.
I find the whole idea of testing healthy people constantly odd, it's like some form of population wide munchausen syndrome.

Red bull, I am also reliably informed, provides a positive test.

If you rinse the test after the lines show up the contents of the juice etc will be washed off and the correct result will be shown. Great to see so many kids testing science ;)

And if you're a parent leaving your kid to do a test on their own, then you've only got yourself to blame if they're spoofing them..

2 lateral flow a week since January for work. Not worth it though given 2 people I was in a physical meeting with on Friday have done the proper test and tested positive over the weekend. Not been pinged yet despite being in a room with them for over an Hour and using the app.

Perhaps they weren't using the app, hence the lack of ping??

No it’s mandatory for us. Everyone in the meeting had the app and used it. 6 of us. 2 got Covid. 2 got pinged and 2 nothing. Wonder how dildo hardon is spending that 37 billion.

Interesting result this. I would have thought with the UK knocking out 1m tests + a day there would have been a lot more people with very high test numbers.

The only thing I'd say is that I left my phone on my desk one day whilst in a meeting. The other 3 got pinged and obviously I didn't. I did get picked up a day later by test and trace though.

Food manufacturing. The theory is we social distance so we don't need it.

interesting I was a bit rough for a couple of days after the first AZ one but fine after the second - at least for 2 weeks when I tripped and badly broke a wrist havent felt 100% in the six weeks since surgery but suspect the AZ is blameless here

In fairness if we go into production areas personal phones should be left in lockers so that would be a recipe for disaster.

Yeah it’s a weird one isn’t it. I think it shows that a lot of the tests are being done to the same people doesn’t it?

It wasn’t supposed to be a loaded question or anything like that, I had no idea what the results were going to be honestly.
