we've always bought cheap kids one's from asda or poundland - dog's not that interested but will go in occasionally.
Shamelessly re-posting in another Doggy thread. FWIW we think this little fella has an issue with water - was possibly flicked at him as a punishment as a young, pre-rescue pup? It has been amazing watching him get used to the hose spray in the garden this weekend - he is a changed dog. Wonderful. I still think he would kill / eat the hose if he was given the chance once it has stopped. We've inherited a dog. Was supposed to be for 24 hours whilst an elderly relative was taken to hospital. Unfortunately, said elderly relative is now in long term care, so we have had this little fella 7 weeks. If anybody would like a 'mostly' Patterdale approx 8 year old dog for company, who likes fresh air and decent walks, drop me a line. If not he might have to go to a foster place (already been provisionally accepted). I love him to bits, but wife says no, and I have spent 22 years telling kids they can't have a dog. Downside - he is called Boris. Upside, he responds well to Bozza.
Brilliant, am going to try make time to try this this afternoon. If you hear a scream from up the road .............
It’s because streams/lakes etc. are at ground level. Dogs don’t like climbing into a pool due to the ‘high’ sides as they’re scared they won’t be able to get out. That’s why it’s best to practice with basically no water at first, just enough so the bottom of their paws get wet, so they get confident getting in and out.
