With the Albion family , seems a very good community club . https://www.wba.co.uk/news/watch-extensive-footage-valerien-ismaels-albion-introduction
I will never forget what he did for BFC. I wish him nothing but success unless it’s against the Reds.
Loved him when he was here but I've moved on now and couldn't give a monkey's about how he does at WBA. Actually, I'd probably rather he fail because a) we're competing with them and b) his successor(s) might think twice about jumping ship so quickly. On second thoughts, ignore b) - it'll never happen, if a manager (or player) is good their self confidence will win out. That or the higher salary.
I'm a fan of Valerien Ismael & Alex Mowatt, enjoying and appreciating everything they did for us. I am a bit baffled at comments of us being 'lucky'. For me, it's puerile pettiness and a pathetic attempt to rewrite history to meet a personal agenda. However, Markus Schopp is now our Head Coach and I'm backing him to do well. The king is dead. long live the king.
Same here , was impressed with the baggies in the community it’s good they’ve spent some of their prem money on those facilities , hopefully when we get there we’ll do same although we’ve got a good community set up and do a fantastic job .money will set up better resources . Good to hear Big Val emphasising the great atmosphere at our home game with Swansea and Brunt agreeing with him . It would be good if a Brom finish in second place this season but a long way behind us
100% spot on. I'll bare my arse on tarn hall steps if Schopp gets us in play offs this coming season. .
I've still got a soft spot for WBA from the 96/97 season. As I remember it they came to Oakwell towards the backend of the season in midtable with nowt to play for and as it was basically us or Wolves their travelling fans were pretty happy to lose. I remember chants of "you're going up" and even a conga line when they were 2-0 down.
I agree tge sooner he's sacked the better, we were 5th couple of signings he may have got us there, am aving a look at there forum after 10 games hope there not in top 6 and we are, ad luv it so would our players, come on tarn.hes gone so as mowatt couldnt care less and took some back room staff which would av benefited our new coach.hell be in for a couple of more players aswell if he dont get a good start. When theyve done wi tarn theyve done wi me unless theyve spent 5yrs plus.
Never met the bloke. Seriously though, I wish him well (apart from the obvious fixtures). He did a good job for us last season. I'm not especially enamoured of his style of play, but it'll be interesting to see how he sets WBA up and whether he can deliver what their ambitions must surely be asking for. A tougher gig than Oakwell, I reckon.
There'll be some bigger egos aswell, they'll also be players who can still get a high wage without having to press like he'll want em to. Its gonna be interesting. Ad av just liked another season with him, he did well for us but all that energy frm our players was incredable.
Yes, I remember that too. First inkling that we were set to become everybody's "second team". They are the best fans of all the midlands clubs I can think of, but then again it's a pretty low bar with Brum/wolves etc
