The effect of restrictions being relaxed wil not be shown yet, as you know.

This just makes you look like an absolute knobhead.

I suspect cases will continue to fall though, Schools are now closed, the Euros have finished, and the vaccination numbers are continuing to rise.

You carry on making false equivalences and beating your own drum though.

The number of people testing positive for Covid-19 has continued to fall in the UK, the latest daily figures show.

The UK recorded 29,173 new cases on Sunday - down from 48,161 logged a week earlier on 18 July.

The number of new infections by date reported has fallen for five days in a row for the first time since February.

It is also the first time since the start of the pandemic that a sustained drop in cases has not coincided with a national lockdown.

"The data at present is looking good for at least the summer," said Prof Paul Hunter from the University of East Anglia.

"Today's figures do not of course include any impact of last Monday's end of restrictions. It will not be until about next Friday before the data includes the impact of this change."

Bit too early to be taking that moral high ground, but if you are correct then can I have the lottery numbers for the next big euro millions jackpot.

Didn't realise JamDrop was a member of SAGE tbh. That's interesting

What day? I’ll see you here next Sunday, right? Shall we have a £100 charity bet? I bet they keep going down.

they weren’t my lockdowns mate. It is possible to see that doing **** all and doing something are both equally as damaging.

To be fair I’ve literally told you to block me. I’m planning on being insufferable. Imagine how happy you’d be if you were right after being hammered for a year AND less people were dying.

You're yet again acting like anybody that supports any kind of restrictions hangs on every word of SAGE and believes everything that they say. You posted "well SAGE said they would go up" as a 'gotcha' to JamDrop, so I assumed you know something I don't, that she's a member of SAGE, because that's the only time that post makes any sense.

I’ve advocated the Swedish approach Helen from the start. Except for I think they, like us, did a very poor job of protecting the vulnerable in their care homes .

Sorry. I’m coock a hoop with these infection figures. For the first time in 18 months I feel like we’ve done the right thing and these figures seem massively vindicating. Forgive me a little joy in them?

    But fair enough. Apologies.

To be honest I wish people would stop focusing on case numbers. I don't care how many people have to take a test to find out they have a virus so harmless to them that they had no idea they had it until they were told. It means as much to me as finding out how many people test positive for a generic cold.

What I do care about is how many people are hospitalised BECAUSE of covid (not how many are in hospital and happen to test positive) and thankfully those figures seem extremely low as they have for months now
