https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/former-norwich-striker-training-at-cardiff-city-8191140 How the mighty have fallen. Done little since he couldn't wait to leave us and now struggling to find a club with the new season nearly being ready to start.
He probably got more money in the bank than any of us could dream of,wish I was that fallen, good luck Marley lad ,one of my favourite players from previous teams
Not worked out on the pitch but he’ll have been earning 10k plus at Norwich & Bristol so I doubt he’s bothered. Decent gig if he can get a contract at Cardiff as they’ll be pushing for the top 6.
There are lots of footballers sweating on getting contracts. They will have to cut their cloth. Or suffer unemployment. I was listening to Rotherhams latest signing. And he made a point of how difficult it is for out of contract players getting picked up.
I think that's a little harsh DB. AS I remember it, he stayed when others left in the January 2017 transfer window and certainly gave his all until the end of that season. Then he chose to exercise his right to leave on the expiry of his contract - as others have done. Imo he was a good player whilst with us and always fully committed. Feel no malice toward him at all, although I was very unhappy when he dived in front of the Ponty a couple of years back for Bristol City - did they score from the resulting free-kick (or maybe penalty)?
From his perspective he's done well financially and if he will see after he left we were relegated so i hardly think he will look back on leaving as a mistake
He went from non league in 2013 to 5 years in the Championship & over a million quid spent on him. I'm sure he's pretty happy.
Doesn’t this demonstrate exactly why it was the right thing for him to move? It’s a short, uncertain and very unpredictable career. You’ve got to bank the money when your stock is high.
Played for Norwich City Bristol City and Aberdeen since leaving us. Now on trial at another championship club. Your post doesnt make much sense.
As always you take a very peculiar viewpoint on most subjects. This is no different. The blokes earned far more over the last few years since he left, than he would have with us. He’s now on trial at a bigger club than us who will no doubt be in and around the play offs. So a) he was never that mighty and b) he’s fallen upwards if anything.
One of my favourite players from the promotion season, I was disappointed he didn't start at Oakwell South.
He was good for us especially in the promotion season, a little under rated by many linked up well with winnall, just behind conor on assists and didn't take set plays, did alot off the ball like runs to create space for others, chipped in with goals, always gave 100%. Wish him the best apart from when he plays against us and like already said this thread is a strange one hardly fallen far as Cardiff only just missed out on the play offs last season and will probley be there or there abouts this season.
I agree but I still thought he was sheet. He falls into Brad Potts mould. I'm not denegrating his achievements or character n' sincerely hope I haven't shat on anybodies windscreen but he was meh for me.
Mate of mine who’s a Norwich fan reckons he’s one of the worst players ever to play for them, mind you his favourite bands are Arcade Fire and the Manic Street Preachers so I don’t trust his judgement that much!
