"The President in particular is very much a figurehead — he wields no real power whatsoever. He is apparently chosen by the government, but the qualities he is required to display are not those of leadership but those of finely judged outrage. For this reason the President is always a controversial choice, always an infuriating but fascinating character. His job is not to wield power but to draw attention away from it." Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
I’ll be honest, I did laugh. Then realised this man represents this nation on the global stage. Fool.
It was supposed to be a solemn occasion. The dedication of a monument to Police Officers who have fallen in the line of duty. Their families were the audience. He turned up looking as though he had slept in a skip and then put on a performance wrestling with an umbrella. It may have made one or two around him laugh, who hadn't lost sons, daughters, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters. I bet the onlookers from the families weren't laughing.
That short video is a wonderful example of why certain parts of our populace vote for dePfeffel, while showing everyone else how completely unfit he is to be a human being, let alone a Prime Minister.
But of course its a useful distraction and further boost to his "likeable" clown image he would far rather us laugh at his brolly than talke about all the policy failures he is irresponsible for
Of course it’ll be all over the media about the clown messing about at a solemn ceremony to mark the bravery of our Police officers . Oh hang on it’s Boris not Keir , as you were .
It's a common thread, that many people think this is all an act, that the bumbling ridiculousness is all put on to create his image. From the handful of people I know in political circles, they say he's a prize idiot with zero attention span.
