Him and his mates have been talking with apparent inside information which has resulted in them writing the new manager off as **** with a loser mentality and a school satchel on his back after the first training session (yes training session, not yesterday's friendly)
Brave post. As for the accuracy of some of your statements - whether Oakwell is already a Little Schopp of Horrors - I do not know. Whitey might have a substantive, more informed (albeit rose tinted) response to your submissions. But the team will be supported by the fans to the full, down the Well, if they can see the same sort of effort that was put in last season. Nobody knows how it will all turn out. Let's be optimistic, the week before we kick off.
The self inflicted misfortunes of Wednesday, Derby & the like, just pale in comparison. I really had no idea we were in such a perilous situation. Has anyone informed the club?
I share some of your concerns about how well we will do but for completely different reasons. Mowatt’s one of the best players we’ve had in the last 20 years & was our leader & barely missed a game. And then you had Dike who along with Morris changed us from been a solid mid table side to one that were winning the majority of our games. Considering we were winning most of our games by a single goal I could quite easily see a lot of them wins becoming draws or narrow losses & it’ll be because we’ve lost 2 of our best players & manager rather than the other stuff you mention. Kane at Wagamama’s a problem? Really? He must have a knock as he wasn’t involved so he’s out getting some snap. Who cares? He’s not downing 10 pints & stuffing his face with a doner kebab. It’s not like Wagamama’s is really bad for you. I’ve no doubt the players will have been in today or tomorrow & they’ll do some video analysis & he’ll see the key bits from the game. Pranks & things like that are generally a good thing. It would be far more worrying if the players didn’t want to have fun together & were straight off home after training. Losing mentality is nonsense as well in my opinion. It’s a lazy phrase that gets thrown around. Most of the teams that go down one season & struggle the next do so because things are bad behind the scenes (see Sunderland). As for Schopp maybe he’s managed bad sides, there’s only so much you can do.
Genuine question - what in your post is your opinion and what is actual fact? I don't know if this is the work of a wind-up merchant or what you are relaying is actual noise coming out of the club. What's this about Kitching p1ssing about?
Kitching was in a couple of videos (posted by the club I should add) enjoying himself. That's his crime, having a laugh with his mates, during training/during a photoshoot
Ah thanks. I thought he was on about some Jacob Mellis-type smoke grenade hijinks that was going unreported.
Whilst it’s a bit early to be writing an obituary, I find this post no less credible than those predicting promotion this season. In Mads, Mowatt and Dike you could say we’ve lost the spine of the team. In mowatt, Val and Dane we’ve most definitely lost the spine of the club. New faces and new tactics could take a while to bed in, but the biggest threat to our success could be the return of fans to stadia. It feels like last year was a perfect storm in our favour, and something that easily take another decade or more to repeat.
