Talking about his beloved Posh and how they'll fair this season. He reckons they'll be in a relegation battle but sure there's 4 worse teams who'll finish below them. Derby (says everyone has talked to says they'll finish bottom) Blackpool (a big step up from L1) Huddersfield (been on decline for a while) BARNSLEY (as we''ll struggle without VI! ) I know he's a 'shock jock' but i like listening to him. But really ..............
Best thing you, and everyone else, can do is to just turn off the radio and then forget it ever existed.
The bloke on there may have been correct if Val had stayed, but as we have a new boss who likes to play the ball on the ground I am not sure his views are worth anything.
Struggle without VI? We are just as lightly to be looking for a new head coach next summer as Schopp will have been poached.
So we have some people tipping us for 2nd place and promotion (Gab Sutton), Benjamin Bloom (You Tube) tipping us for 7th, me tipping us for 12th, and a couple tipping us to go down. Something for everyone in there! Benjamin Bloom is class on You Tube, by the way. If you haven't already, his coverage and knowledge of the Championship is superb and unbiased.
Teams who I think could struggle, derby skint no.money no players and a manager they cant afford to get shut of posh big step up from league one blackpool similar to posh also lost simms who was star man last season Huddersfield skint Reading lost there best players also under a transfer embargo Us lost our most successful manager in 21 years and our captain, the new style of play could be a problem if we go back to overplaying in our own half. Durham like most posh fans is probley still bitter from when us and huddersfield played keep ball and relegated posh in 2013.
I haven’t seen much of the transfer situation this summer, if we discount the big guns- West Brom,Fulham& she’d Utd, and concentrate on the teams we can think about beating, what have they been up to in the transfer window? In the past they’ve all outspent us but COVID and ffp maybe having an impact finally on the Gaga transfer market. Who’s invested in their squad wisely and who’s retained good players? And who’s stuck with the same overpaid rejects as last season or is trying to find “bargains” without our experience(and spreadsheet)?
I believe the only thing that will stop us making the top half (and anything can happen from there) is if we decide to overplay from the back. If Schopp can find the right balance between ball retention at the right times and playing direct at the right times I think we will be in for a very solid season. We have good Championship players all over the pitch.
They still haven't let it go to this day probley the reason he included both huddersfield and us in his relegation prediction. Let it go Adrian get back to making controversial opinions on talkshite
Disagree, can’t quite figure out what he’s based that on. Don’t think we’ll do nearly as well as last season but I’m quite confident we’ll finish mid table
I don’t think I’d argue with any prediction for us this season. I can quite easily see a season of struggle - captain, most important 2 players & manager gone. I can see a quiet season going nowhere - young players continuing to improve but lacking the goals & quality Dike & Mowatt gave us. I can also see us having another good season with the young players continuing to improve & the new lads hitting the ground running.
I get more worried when we get tipped for top 2 or playoffs. I think the season revolves on two factors. Can the players adopt a play out from back style without mistakes and secondly how well the new signings settle in and contribute. We need Benson and at least one possibly two of the strikers to pay off.
