Yes, closing collieries & importing more polluting "brown coal" (Lignite),
from Poland & other parts of Eastern Europe was a brilliant move to stop climate change. Not to mention the carbon footprint of transportation also.

De Pfeffel Johnson. My heart bleeds that there are so many idiots in this country that voted for that sack of sch!sse, especially those in former coal mining areas.

Let's just say he's right. Closing the mines reduced our use of fossil fuels. Wonderful. Marvellous. Well done Maggie.

May I ask why Bozo is currently allowing a coal mine to open in the UK? Why his government has overseen the opening of fracking sites to generate fossil fuels and why his own conservative government has been found guilty by the high court of acting unlawfully in the opening of said sites and ignoring the impact on the environment?

If he actually believes Thatcher was right then he's an absolute idiot who is too thick to realise he's actively undoing that work. However while he is an idiot on this one he knows full well that he is harming the environment because he's been told by everyone that he is. The conclusion is that he isn't just thick, he's a thick and very dangerous evil ******* who cares about nobody but himself and his rich pals. The best thing for this country would be someone to put a bullet in his head before he causes more damage

Good old Boris. Lets all laugh about the countless thousands of miners and their families who went hungry and the countless individuals in mining communities who lost their livelihoods or businesses as a knock on effect. Lets have a good laugh about the deprivation that still exists shall we?
    Johnson makes me sick.

The simple fact that he knows exactly what he’s said, and what the reaction of many will be.

it’s more than a dead cat story, it’s a ‘watch Boris kill a cat and dismember it’ story.

The "rissole" believes in nothing, other than power, nationalism, self preservation of the ruling class & divide & rule. Mussolini or Bolsonaro are his bedfellows.

Yes, because at the same time the encouraging of the ‘Dash for Gas’ and pulling the funding and closing down the cleaner coal- burning research plants such as the one at Grimethorpe, were all pioneering. green ventures. Deary deary me, add to this, the state of this Country’s journalism in that you don’t see these type of questions fired at him. Move on nothing to see here
