Catching up on this thread was a bit erratic. All over the Schopp. Isn’t the main reason that this Summer, thus far, we’re not fetching in profit raking fees, down to the fact we’re not selling our best players? Is it unique to our club to always find a negative in something?
I wish him all the best. I think he will be a better player on the the continent in a slower paced league, We have young players in central midfield that need game time, who can play high press & have greater potential IMO. I think it was Alex Ferguson who said if one in two signings were successful, that is a good transfer policy & he was fishing in more lucrative ponds than we are able to. I'd say we are well over 50% in terms of success stories & that is credit to recruitment & coaching, particularly signing development players that may or may not make the grade. I'd say Victor did well last season, but we have signed better prospects now. Surely a L1 side may be interested? Miller may be one we just have to write off eventually. This season will show the proof in the pudding. I have no expectation of a top 6 finish, but my expectations are greater than they were at the start of last season. Good entertaining football & a top half finish would do me. I'm not sure where Ritz would have helped us with that. Schopp gave hime a good look over & made his own mind up. The buck stops with him on the field.
Honestly don't know why a league 1 team wouldn't be interested in Vic, especially on loan. Plenty of far worse strikers than him in that league.
Time to move on. Good luck MR. End of the day football is a business and yes we seem to be doing things in a more sensible way. We will continue to sell players unless a Billionaire arrives. One way to reduce the need to sell is by having sell outs every game and incomes that generates. Whilst we do need to sell let's enjoy the moment of each player whilst we have them.
