    Unsurprising that new signings aren't 100% match fit for the first game and others coming back from injury.

    It's a strong starting XI in the circumstances. Big game for Ben Williams

    Surprised at the line up but a couple of initial thoughts:
    • it's a continuity team from last season and Schlopp is giving last seasons players first dibs for the new season
    • it appears you only get selected if your fully fit and can contribute fully to the cause
    Overall - this looks like the head coach isn't shirking from making unpopular decisions. In Markus we trust :)

    A bit disappointing to have 3 new strikers and none of them fit enough for the first game.
    No Vic on the bench too.

    No. If true, it makes sense why noone had heard he was injured. No idea if he's been training with the other 2 new lads.

    Surprised at that lineup and bench but we can only assume the three new forwards aren’t fit. Didn’t expect Frieser to be in the side at all.

    I think we can expect Benson to be playing long term, be that with Styles or Palmer. If he doesn’t, it likely means both Styles and Palmer are doing the business, so I’m fine either way.

    I get the new strikers may not be match fit, but surely at least one is worth a place on bench. You don’t have to be fully match fit to play 15 mins
