We’ve looked fairly solid so far. Like having Styles in the middle, enjoying Williams at LWB, and Kitching has been impressive. Calmer on the ball than under Val but not afraid to go long quickly either. Look a good side with Frieser being a nuisance and Morris going close (should have done a lot better for me). We do hold on to the ball a lot more at the back, which is heart in mouth at times, but we’re not committed to just doing that and do go long rather than play, play, play. Cardiff coming back in to the game a lot more the last few minutes. Collins is a big threat.
Comforting that the playing it at the back isn't reaching Struber-levels of naivety. Kitching looking good.
There's a real mix of purposeful long balls and playing it along the ground. Very good so far. Palmer just put in a few good tackles to win possession.
Cardiff cross from the left wing into an unmarked Bakuna, who had left Kitching but he's put it over. Cardiff are having success down that side. Brittain and Sibbick need to be careful.
After two of us saying Kitching has looked good he completely lost his man there. Poor finish from Cardiff (Bacuna?) but shows how we can be slow at the back if Sibbick isn’t the last man.
Palmer looks such a classy/tidy player. Really think he could come in to his own playing a style with more football. Gets the ball down, doesn’t lose it too easily, always looks for a reds shirt and to be on the front foot.
He’s done ok. Just found himself 25 yards from goal with the opportunity to shoot, and acres of time, but deflected for a corner. He’s been busy without being as effective or controlled as Palmer.
All three attacking players we've signed not being involved was always going to trigger some folk. We appear to have started well. Just missing a goal.
Another excellent move there with Kitching bursting into midfield, laying it off for Palmer who picks out Woodrow on the left of the area, Woodrow heads it to Morris who volleys it over.
Brilliant move just then. Kitching came forward and intercepted the ball lovely, drove forward before setting it to Palmer at his side, who dinked a lovely ball to Woodrow at the back post to tee up Morris for a difficult volley from about 16 yards. I’ll take more of that this season!
