I watched the match live yesterday & was very surprised when our goal was chalked off & having just watched it again on Quest I am convinced it should have stood, am I on my own or does anyone else share my opinion ? Sorry if this has already been discussed .
Didn't see the game, saw the goal. Looked a good one. How did he play? I like him but he gets alot of stick on here.
He was busy as usual & worked hard , he took the opportunity well & I was gutted for him as he doesn"t score many goals, but when the three missing strikers return then I do not see him getting a great deal of game time .
Difficult to say from the iFollow and Quest pictures but it looked very very close, maybe VAR might have spotted his jockstrap being slightly ahead of the defender's. Edit; it was a very marginal decision and wouldn't criticise the linesman, he only had a second to make his decision. If the Cardiff one had been missed I think we'd have far more grounds for complaint.
He is a good lad and works hard but I agree with the above. He will more than likely be one to drop out once our three new forwards get up to speed. It's going to be impossible to accommodate everyone.
How can you make that assessment having not seen any of the other strikers play before? I think Frieser will have a huge role to play in the squad this season. I think he’s continually improving to the demands of English football and we need players like him to lead by example for the others. He’s also probably one of our most experienced players, football wise, now that Mowatt has gone.
You have your opinion I have mine , I just think three forwards brought in will be competition for his & other forwards places, I have nothing against Frieser & hope he does well but I have not been critical of the lad at all but I certainly do not see his game time altering because Mowatt has left.
That’s kind of weird logic, we bring in 3 forwards so it will clearly impact Frieser’s game time. He may be experienced and works hard but, for me anyway, he doesn’t have nearly enough end product to be playing regularly in our front 3. We’ve brought in 2 attackers who have played European football, one of whom played in the French top division, so I’d say it’s quite clear that once he’s up and running, he’ll more than likely get more game time than Frieser.
Just off i thought when i saw it back on the efl show' managed to pause it just as Morris played the ball...
Not weird logic really by suggesting he has a huge role still to play in the squad, despite us signing three strikers? The post I replied to felt too dismissive to me that’s all. I was just championing his importance to the squad. I certainly wouldn’t put Cole ahead of him just yet after one season at Motherwell but many before that failing at League One and League Two level.
He’s certainly a good squad player to have but with the signings we’ve made, I feel like he’s further down the pecking order than what he was 12 months ago and even 2 months ago. I’d agree about Cole but then he has the pace to trouble defenders. So if you’re looking for impact off the bench, it will probably be Cole but I guess if you’re looking for someone to wear down defenders, it’s Frieser. On a slight tangent, I think our attacking lineup offers some great options this year as they all seem to have different qualities. I can’t wait to have them all fit and firing.
The move was so slick, it’s hard to see what’s going on. Benefit of doubt to the attacking player, seems a thing of the past. It’s easier for officials to deny a good goal than award a bad one. It’s still great play & a well taken finish. Could have put us top of the league on another day.
Beautifully worked approach play. Close decision. From the highlights it looked as though the interchanges between the attacking players were both slick and fast. Only the highlights but there seems to be a good understanding between the players.....and a noticeably different style from last season. The pass from Josh to Toby was sublime. mmm nice.
