Year's ago when Wednesday knocked us out of LDV vans trophy some Wenesday fans were giving it the big un after the game from their car to the Barnsley fans walking up past the burger king. Needless to say they didn't get far before they hit traffic. Big Barnsley fan goes over to have a "word" and was trying to open the car door, the 4 piggys in the car absolutely filled their kecks while we all had a good laugh!
Having lived in the North Wales one, I'm fairly certain the song must've been about the one in Ireland! There was very little 'lovely' about Bangor. And I'm from Waley!
I’m kinda sure it was Bangor Wales that the song was about. You mention Waley. Would that be Whaley Bridge? Near Greater Manchester. I have a cousin lives there.
Apart from being abused by a complete pointless lifeform, my main concern is that this idiot is driving whilst operating a phone & not concentrating on the road ahead. God forbid it ends in tragedy. Just be nice folks
Didn’t he do the soundtrack to Ralph macchio film crossroads? (Not the crossroads about the motel with the guy with the tea cost hat).
I think that song featured as a question last week on "Popmaster". Ken Bruce seemed to think that it was about the North Wales Town rather than Northern Ireland.
Googled it... Apparently it's actually about Rhyl, which is why the lyrics don't describe Bangor very well. Bangor rolled off the tongue better. Makes the song even weirder as Rhyl is one of the roughest towns I've ever been to.
