Not disputing this at all, but what’s in it for Orlando? With his exploits for them, us and the National team he’s already well and truly in the shop window. Surely you either play him for your team or flog him for daft money?
Apparently so rumour is, Orlando want a 2m Loan Fee with a 13m Fee in if they want to sign him at EOS
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the lad has barely had any rest since playing with us? Good player, still raw, but has got to be fatigued with all the travelling with the USA team etc??
We were never gonna sign this lad. Ismael and Murphy both knew they were gonna leave to new clubs and wouldn’t want a rival signing a top player.
The only reason we didn't sign him was money. I was sceptical that we ever would in all honesty, unless we'd got promoted and even then I think he'd have cost too much If I were him I'd want to make a decision on a permanent move, must be hard to settle otherwise
It was a great signing for us last season and he’s clearly a superb talent but it’s time for us to move on from this one. We’ve replaced him with players who we feel are similar. If we were to go down an expensive loan route again then I’d much prefer it to be an experienced midfielder or even CB.
To be honest I'm indifferent about him as a player, struggled against experienced and skilled centre backs, could have offered more in the Play Offs for me. There is potential there but he needs a lot of coaching and game time and not listen to the hype surrounding him. Romelu Lukaku is now being sold for over a €100 million euros. When Man United sold him most people thought his career was on the slide. It's took him a long time to reach and fulfil his potential. Any club in Europe buying DD,will hope that he improves with them so that he can be sold on without loss. All transfers are a risk,I think he is at the moment, only wealthy clubs could afford to take that risk. Sheffield United have 2 strikers costing over £40 million in total, who are unable to score regularly. I wish him well but I didn't see enough in the 5 months he was here,to get very excited. Just miserable I suppose.
I agree with that. My biggest worry was his lack of technical ability. He certainly got goals, but a couple were absolute gimmes put on a plate for him and even his best against brum could have gone absolutely anywhere. He's got potential, but the technical side of his game has to improve massively. He's quick and freakishly strong so he has the physicality clubs value highly and will take a punt on. He also seems a really good lad. Brave too. I hope he makes the right move with a coach who can develop his game more. I'm not sure WBA would be a good move for him. He probably doesn't relish being used as a battering ram to get mugged every game either.
Surely this? Why loan him out when he's ready to be their star man now? It'd be like us loaning out Callum Styles now... why?
Right man at right time last season and that should never be taken away from him. But he was not and still is not a 20 million player, maybe one day, but still a lot to learn.
https://www.expressandstar.com/spor...ymrfJ9IKEXcM3BRtmJ3XauFfldb1T1_2uAH_5X_fN1Fu0 Don't get what Orlando would get out of loaning him back out to a league they know he's too good for. They should just sell him. The guy barely gets a rest.
They were only gimmes because he got himself into the right positions. Something that all of our other strikers struggled to do consistently last season. He has an instinct for goalscoring which I doubt can be coached. That's very valuable.
