Thought Helik was immense today tbh . Almost single handedly kept the Bolton attack at bay and we were under the cosh almost all second half .
Benson by a distance. Helik was again very good, and I thought Miller did more than ok at wing back aside from him.
I think under the cosh is an overexaggeration, once Izzy went off they looked as incapable of finding the net as we did!
At least one good thing to come out of the game is that Benson seems to be shaping up as a quality midfielder.
Some really good penalties taken last night as well. All of Benson, Kane, Helik and Williams were great shots but you could just tell when Cole was walking up that it wasn't going in. Sure he'll pick himself up and go again
Not sure it is Helen tbh , most of the second half was played in our third and although they weren’t much of a goal threat imo Its down mostly to Helik . He seemed to be continuously clearing the ball . I’d like to see a stat of how many balls he won and cleared etc .
Benson was fantastic, but I've gone for Helik as he looked like a defender playing a side at least 2 leagues below him. He was absolutely immense. Special mention for Moon, who I thought looked very capable albeit a little bit raw.
To be honest, I didn't think either team looked like scoring. Ours was down to our lack of quality in the final third for the most part, theirs I thought was a great deal down to the work of Helik and Moon to keep them at bay. The only time we looked in any sort of danger was when Williams, Halme and Miller were caught in possession, which happened far too often for my liking. I was particularly disappointed with Jordan Williams last night, who I'm a big fan of. It was by far his worst performance in a reds shirt.
I agree entirely. Its a pleasure to finally be able to see him play in the flesh, as sadly, I think he's destined for much greater things.
