A wins a win, but I didn’t think we played well overall. Coventry looked the better footballing team to me. It must be only us who struggle to put more than 3 or 4 passes together. Coventry knocked it around well at times, played through our lines at will on occasions. It seemed they always had someone in space offering an option. It’s like we’re headless chickens at times when we’ve got it. No one offering an option, everything seems rushed and panicky.
I’m not convinced (yet) with Styles playing in the middle either. Romal looked decent today, only God & Schopp knows why he took him off, unless he picked up a knock. He added what little composure we had.

I feel for Woodrow a bit. He needs service. Get balls into him in good areas and he will score but some of the systems we've been playing since last season don't seem to suit him. Early doors though, I'm sure they'll figure it out.

I would have put Victor on as a replacement for Morris, at least he would have held the ball and provided a target. Oduor was almost invisible I had to keep reminding myself he was there.

Absolutely, if he had stayed on and continued playing the same, he would have been my choice for MOTM.

A lucky win yesterday for sure and the team needs to be changed for the next game imo - Benson HAS to start - the team must be adjusted so he can play - if you are going to play a passing style game then play the best passer ffs - Ben Williams for me is at best a league 1 player so an adjustment needed there pdq

He just seems unwilling to make a run. His game seems to have distilled down to backing in to a centre half, not really challenging, then hitting the deck if there's the slightest bit of contact. Sure, he does some chasing, and chips in at the back, but I need to see a bit more up top from our 'main' striker.

If Styles is going to be played centrally then we must sign a new left-back, B.Williams got beat time and time again yesterday.. the lad isn’t good enough at this level I’m afraid.

Logical move is to put Styles at wing back instead of Williams and start with Benson, maybe manager reluctant to make that change after only 2 games through and I doubt styles would appreciate it- but it’s a team sport and you should be prepared to play where the manager wants you.

Like others have said the best option is to push styles to left wingback and bring benson into the centre until we sign a specialist wingback with pace.

My views and not crticism of any players.

Brittain, Styles, Morris not setled with new style yet.
Three centre backs and goal keeper very strong.
Woodrow will be fantastic this season as captain.

B Williams coming back after missing a full season, same for Oduor and change in position.

Benson will be a success here

Palmer looked in spells something special.

Frieser, J Williams give everything and are valuable to our team.

To come in Oulare and Iseka, Anderson to comeback and Devante will score goals.

    Great start to the season

Woodrow now being the main man & Captain, for me needs to show a bit more. Yes he runs around and some will argue he gets no service. Our crossing from wide is often poor or there’s no one in the box when the ball comes in. But at times yesterday, I thought he was waiting & expecting the ball to come to him on the deck, by which time the balls been nicked from him. New system, whatever you wanna call it, his best place for me is in the box anticipating/finding space. He’s not the type of player to turn & run at people. He’s a yard of pace too slow, doesn’t hold the ball up well either. It’s abit of a conundrum with him at the moment, but I hope he finds his scoring boots soon, especially with Morris’s injury & no sign of the new lads yet. We’re looking a little frail up top again. Just my thoughts.

Seen lots of negative comments about young Ben Williams but if I recall correctly Dabo was extremely effective last time we met and I don't think Ben played in that game. Lads just come ack from a lengthy lay off so please be patient.

I fear the ball would bounce off Vic rather than him hold it up. You're right about Oduor though.

^This^. Would also give Kane space on the bench. It will do nothing for his confidence if he is isolated.
